Zilo beast hide was effectively immune to lightsabers. It was stated in the episode in the Clone Wars when it was captured on the Dug home planet that Palpatine wanted it for armour on ships. Personally an armour set to use against Jedi would be handy to have. If ever they get under your guard you could take the blow and use that opportunity to strike down your foe.

Captured? I thought it was a clone, that's what I recalled in the clone wars, they were looking to clone it because blasters can't pierce it's skin, even lightsabers

The original Zilo beast in Clone Wars was killed before they could clone it. This Zilo Beast was captured by the empire in season 2 of The Bad Batch and brought to Tantiss, most likely so they could once again attempt to clone it.

@@TmanTheTdogwhat are you Talking🤦🏻‍♂️ the cloned the Zillo with the dead one and the ship which was transporting the young one crashed and this is when the Bad batch found it.

@@Julian.31.12 If it was a confirmed clone in Metamorphosis then hey, fair enough, it’s been over a year since I watched that episode. However, still doesn’t make a lot of sense that the cloned specimen wasn’t just made on the planet where, ya know, the highly advanced cloning research facility was located? Seems like they’d just make it on site if they already had the necessary samples rather than making it somewhere else and then transporting it.

@@TmanTheTdog they said in clone wars that the zillo on malaster was the last of its kind so it seams impossible to catch a nother young one. And they moved everything to tantis from somewhere else so its make sense that they started the cloning of the zillo during the clone wars and then moved it to tantis

I would personally try to exploit it for the incredibly durable scales that it has. It's ability to grow exponentially when it consumes lightning or whatever is also quite interesting

the zillo beast was shown after the clone wars. in a book, kylo ren killed one, wanting to succeed where his grandfather failed. in the clone wars, the zillo beast was said to be the last of it's kind. it was killed, but palpatine asked for it to be cloned. in the bad batch, obviously, kylo ren isn't born yet. this mean, the zillo beast kylo ren killed may very well be this one, but grown up. if so, this mean that no matter what happen next, this baby zillo beast will survive it and judging by what kylo ren said, this include a potential encounter with a certain grandfather. 🙂

I think it would be cool to get answers in another special, "Tales of the spies" where we get Andor as the undercover, Ahsoka as the infiltrator, and Kallus as the inside man. They never meet face to face, but still work together through cool spy codes and synchronized watches😎

In clone wars the idea was to synthesise the scales to use for armour on ships, and probably on the troops, I assume that would still be the plan

Nobody talks about the laser machine here that is it's first debut chronologically before Empire Strikes Back. Same goes with laser cannons before New Hope.

It was in Attack of the Clones. Mounted to tanks. It was those same tanks anakin and Mace used to capture the beast in thr first place.

@@sebastianbenner977 Honestly I don't know. I just know the old Lucasfilm made Battlefront 2 has such laser machines on Hoth. Hoth is seen only in Empire Strikes Back, so... it's what I bet over. The laser machine that attacked Zillo Beast in S3E14 of The Bad Batch I meant.

@@LukiKruki Those turrets in TBB are 5x the size of a human. The Hoth dish turrets are much smaller and doesn't shoot a continuous beam

If Palpatine was able to clone the Zillo Beast and then find a way to control it, he could've had an army of Zillo Beasts and the Rebellion would've been screwed.

We know what it's for. In s3e3 in the Vault (Sith temple like room) we can see the Zillo tank in the back and noises Zillo makes. It's powering the Sith room or smth, not sure

The Clones and Jedis weapons couldn’t break through its armor. “The Chancellor’s” original plan was to use the Zilo Beasts’ to create indestructible armor for his army.
