Honestly thought this was an easy, clever transformation. Everything tabs in nicely on mine other than maybe the left wibg in jet mode but once you line it up it's fine. Bot mode, again it all tabs together nice and tight. Can't wait for Darkwing and i hope they do an exclusive to go with talon. The jet mode on both of these is where they shine though.

For some reason it seems like Fanshobby is losing their touch. Their engineering and designing standards seem to have dropped. Is it because currently they are the only ones doing Masterforce? I will hesitate to replace every single one of them if there’s another company doing Masterforce too.

First time me seeing you not complete a transformation. Combine mode looks very nice completed.. I have to agree on recommendation. I thought Fans Hobby did an Awsome job on representation but feels light and cheap on plastic as of its counter part destroyer was better. Overall solid review ✨️😎

Yeah I found that doing the transformation for the reverse wings can actually damage the wings when you flip them past the arms, not worth it to me

I get bummed when Sony marks a 3 star on something I picked up. Right after this vid was posted, there was a notification for the MB-23A. I initially decided to skip, but figured hey, why not at least try this guy for myself? Sony, your 3 stars lowered my expectations enough to actually like this, LOL!!! I didn't do anything other that combined mode, so I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune when I'm transforming Lernaean into bot mode, but in this instance, I think the 3 star really helped this in my eyes. It's kind of like going into a movie with high expectations, and leaving thinking "meh" ... or going in with low expectations and being pleasantly surprised! As always ... great review!

@@TMReviews after i combined it, my wife came into the office and said "ew, what's that? it looks like a cheap dollar store toy". LOL - she'll never get it. Oh, one thing for your audience reading these comments: It is possible for the powermasters to be included in the combined mode. I wasn't sure, and tried it - everything seemed to work well!

I remember back in the early 90's around 93 they was selling these jets BUT they was a lot smaller. I actually remember buying 2 of them for around 3 dollars a piece at Christmas time from kb toy store in the mall. But as i said they was a lot smaller and one of the arms came with a missile that fired from underneath the jet. Oh yes i remember that Christmas very clearly because i also got streets of rage 2 for Christmas that year so whatever year that game came out they released these jets

There are definitely some frustrating parts in the transformation but he does look awesome in both modes. It's much more a display piece than a play piece. I gave up on the chest after it collapsed three times on me. Looks good next to Buster but is a chore to transform and absolutely temperamental while posing. Great review

I've just picked the alternate coloured one (Dark Strike). Very grateful for your transformation vid. I'd have a bot in bits otherwise. Looks great, but what a pain to transform.

Like the G1, you can push the wings of the first jet all the way back, while flipping over topside the wings of the jet at the back and the combined mode would look a bit better... at least the wings are not separated anymore

Yeah that move is actually quite challenging and puts stress on those wings which are already flimsy, so I decided not to do it

Ok, just transformed him to robot mode. Man alive, yeah that's a bit frustrating. I found a quick hack for everyone: don't tab in the back wings where the shallow tabs are, lol. Just let 'em be! Looks just as good. He sure is a pretty bot - love him!

What do you do to make the wings stay if you don't tab them in? Mine fall down

@@TMReviews mine actually stay up. Maybe it is possible yours fall down because you've transformed it tons for the video? Maybe i'm just a step behind you, and they won't stay up after a while, but for now, they seem to stay put pretty dang well.

Can you show us how you insert the power master into the back in robot mode? It's seems not possible because it hinders. The cockpit to fold down.

You have to pull the doors up on the extension, then they can lay vertical against the back

Damn Sony, I really wanted to like this mold...It looks so so cool in Alt mode, but the Fruckstration of Bot mode is just a Pain. Looking forward to TFCon Exclusive though.

He looks great in plane mode. He seems to be based on a F-111 Aardvark, and the original toy was too. It was one of my favourite real world fighter planes when I was a kid.

@TMReviews they used to scream over my house at tree top level growing up in the UK. One of the reasons why their Darkwing is a grail figure for me. Spent some time living in Australia 20 years ago where the F-111 was a common sight too.

I give both of them 4 out of 5 they both feel cheap after Fans hobby doubledealer they are kind of let down One more thing , MB-23 DOESNT have the swing out grey fins in the nose cone like the G1 verson when the combine in to super jet mode

Pretty much agree with what you said but I did go for the wing flip on combined mode. Now I noticed when you had him in jet mode the left wing didn't tab in as well as the right which seems to be a common issue from all the pics I have seen. I say this in my "review" and will say here as well. To me, despite how good he looks, is the weakest Fans Hobby release that I have handled.

Yikes. I was really looking forward to this figure. I got the Fans Hobby Dreadwind and really love him. He was super posable and fun to transform. This looks terrible in comparison. Gone from a 'definite buy' to a 'maybe, if on sale' for me.

Shame it’s so finicky. Because he looks fantastic in both modes. My toys are strictly display pieces, so luckily, the finicky-ness doesn’t bother me too much.

Nice fair review. They usually make really good bots, I wonder how much the combine mode gimmick impacted the design decisions on this one. Also missed opportunity you should have used Duran Duran's Come Undone as the intro music.
