Rule #1 of repair: Listen to the customer complaint, write it down, then ignore it and diag your way. Come back to the complaint to verify your work. (i.e. the customer is always wrong, but still to be respected.) Decent repair, different than I would have done it, but just as good. Thanks for sharing with the community.

I would have attached it to my flux capacitor, and then ran the numbers again to see if it correlated with the original diagram, then tested it once more, and then I would have soldered it to the probe.

Do you do logic board repair for other things? I have a Thinkpad X1 Tablet that the USB charging port was broken. The tablet worked great...until the battery died. As far as I could tell it works great, just that USB port it charged on doesn't send power anymore. I don't have the tools/expertise to fix the solder joint/port and can't find anyone local willing to do that kind of work. I'm capable of pulling the board out and just sending the board, but not component level stuff.

In terms of the chip, we can probably work out a discount if the pads aren't ripped or anything, where if replacing that fixes your problem you pay less, but it probably isn't going to be as cheap as you're looking for(I'm guessing sub $100). But we can work something out. In terms of sending *just the board* without the machine... I can't do that. :( I've been asked that before and it's a chargeback & 1 star review everytime. I'm sorry. I know I sound like a dick but 100% of the time when we accepted a board only repair it ended in chargeback and a 1 star, and everytime I make an exception the customer service person comes to my office and almost curses me out for forcing him to sit through a 20 minute phone call from an irate customer, so I have promised to stop doing this. If you want to try your hands at replacing the chip yourself for free, 11:30 - 6:30 PM CT, Monday-Friday, we are open for anyone to walk in and use a student station, soldering iron, hot air station, & microscope for you to give it a shot. No charge!

I think you are reaching. Just because Apple has (many) issues, doesn't mean any conspiracy nonsense is valid. The speed makes sense from a technical side and isn't some conspiracy or anything to do with knowing - in fact if they knew and wanted to actually take advantage, it would be a lot better design it to fail if not regulated and no longer boot. And the placement complaint is just plain silly, you will never knock that off unless you specifically screw up. It might be slightly easier to screw up, but then like anyone working with fragile expensive things - just don't.
@TheZoenGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@wyterabitt2149 Considering that he even says in the video that this is the most common failure on Macbooks, I don't believe that my complaint about the FET placement is silly.
