I think one of the main reasons Clint is so honest and up front with his wife is cause he kept her and the kids a secret for a long time. One of my (minor) pet peeves about this series is how first responders say they wish _they_ were heroes, when they're heroic every day. Grills, for example is a firefighter. He risks his life every day rescuing regular people.

Kate I think is a much-needed thing for Clinton Barton who clearly did Bad things in his life. Clint sees all be done and is a bit like a solider with PSD and its like a person saved by A Soldier but that Soldier does not see the hero part of his deeds and that is What Barton doesn't know he needs in Kate

Considering how in the comics he’s been both a supervillain and vigilante aligned with The Avengers , I think Jack’s ultimately going to be revealed as an anti hero/anti-villain by the end of the season. He’s greedy and creepy but I don’t think he killed his uncle (Kate’s mom did)

It's so cool to see it knowing that [spoiler:] Jack actually isn't a bad guy and he's making a genuine effort to be a good dad. He probably recognized Kate at the auction but didn't tell on her later, he read a book about being a step dad and is very understanding of her hostility. He also tried to bond with her over fencing, letting her win and showing us (on rewatch) that he'd rather have a positive moment with her than to have his ego satisfied. Love how they put these little hints everywhere that you just interpret differently until you know that they were just stringing you along, making you believe he's a villain.
