He was going to be called Jetfire based on the Macros Jetfire toy, but harmony gold had the Jetfire character. Due to Legal reasons, the characters animation model was turned into the now iconic one and name was changed to Skyfire. Recently, Hasbro has acquired the rights to the Jetfire name.

I like how you got involved in the script, it's so funny! Also, I agree about the stand, it's very stupid for using the same stand, Fans Toys should use different stands for various characters with jet modes.

I know I'm late on your review of this Fans Toys' take on G1 Skyfire Emgo, but you always deliver great reviews on both sides of the Masterpiece Game. I will eventually pick up FT-10 PHOENIX/G1 SKYFIRE! And get some more faction symbols, particularly the Autobots' ones. BTW, I am a sub and fan of yours. I like to watch your reviews, because you are thorough with them. In addition, you are one of the few reviewers I watch before I make a decision to buy something I am interested in.

A simple solution for guns falling out of hands would be for them to put a small piece of metal in the handle of the guns and a small magnet hidden in the palms. The weapons would stick with ease yet still be removable with ease as well.

In my childhood I've always known him as Skyfire. Personally I prefer the name he had when he appeared in the original series. I like Skyfire better than I Jetfire.

It strikes me as weird that Skyfire could simply rip his Decepticon insignia from his chest like a decal and pull put an Autobot insignia out of nowhere in G1. I remember seeing Grimlock do that in the IDW comics with his Autobot insignia and he tore out a chunk of metal from his chassis so he ended up looking funny.

While I'm really tempted by Phoenix, I do already have Kronos, and for all of his faults (and yea, I know he's not near as good as a product as what Fans Toys normally produces) visually Kronos still looks really nice on my MP shelf with the rest of the bots. Hopefully I'll get Phoenix someday, but with all the great stuff coming out such as Fans Toys Not Omega by the time I get to Phoenix on my want list, I'll be broke. But a really great review Emgo-and the skit at the end was super fun as usual!

EM, You are awesome!!!!!!! Just got him in yesterday, and went through all the KZbin reviews. Annnnnnnd..... Nobody. Not anybody had him in jet mode to transform him into robot mode but you. I Got him transformed and was STUCK!!!!!????? You flipped it. Reverse transformation. Thank you sir. I appreciate this much.👍👍to ya.😊😁😁 happy happy. And one more thing. The reissue is almost exactly the same. Just a slight sheen on the gun. Basically the same. This one of my most favorite master piece quality figures. He is just stout and I really like the stuff made by Fans Toys. Dead solid with die cast parts and super sturdy. Awesome piece. I've got the Seige for Cybertron Jetfire. Love it. But, a huge question I have to ask, is why Is there a huge chest gap in all all of the figures' jet modes? Why couldn't they figure out a way to close it? The Seige actually comes with a peice that could, possibly fix this. They coulda used the chest armor. Instead of putting it on top, it could have been modified to accomplish this. The damn chest gap!!!

Skyfire/Jetfire starts as a decepticon but becomes an autobot later if you have watched ANY Transformers except the unicorn trilogy.

No. Jetfire was an Autobot. Megatron lied to him and tricked him into joining the Decepticons. Jetfire eventually figured it out and joined the Autobots for good. Look up the original G1 series. There's also comics on it.

Was it Starscream? O_o;;; I feel kind of sheepish not remembering that point... (Bad Whisper!) Then again again, Starscream always was an opportunistic pain in the ass. BUT.. yes he did begin as a Decepticon. You're right. (queue "I've seen the light") bom he's an autobot and has been ever since. Not the first time it's happened! Prime example: TF Armada. Starscream begs Megatron to join the Autobots to stop Unicron. He, himself takes up the Autobot cause in a sacrifice of his own life to stop both Megatron and Unicron. Happens all the time. "Hey Megatron's a dick, let's go see the Autobots." "Fuck that, the autobots are wimps let's go see Megatron" HEY MAYBE YOU'RE RIGHT, LET'S FLIP FLOP o.O;;; But I digress. Jetfire = Autobot because reasons. XD

Just got the second run of Phoenix I must say he is a true masterpiece the only issue I noticed on mine is the right wrist ball joint is a little loose which I noticed even on the box they pose him holding the gun in his left hand so I'm wondering if they knew about the right defective ball joint.

I'm okay with Phoenix not having any real waist articulation as he's basically wearing armour according to cannon so he's bulky.

Not only that, but if you look at his design from the show, there's no way he would have been able to twist at the waist anyhow. The cockput and nosecone of the jet extend all the way from the top of his chest right down to his crotch. That's one big solid piece right through the center of his torso.
