Very nice solder station, when my ts-100 eventually breaks around the power jack section I would take a look at one of these.
@backofficeshow4 жыл бұрын
I am a big advocate for the ts-100 but it certainly has some issues. The Jack is quite bulky but I guess they do not have many other options to get that current into such a slender body. It does sometimes feel like the Jack and the lead weight a lot more than the iron. (I suppose this is true!). A super capacitor iron would be a real cool idea that charges in its stand. I hope someone makes this!

I really, really need to upgrade mine. I have a cheap Draper but my GOD it's woeful. I would have more luck soldering with a spoon heated with a blow torch. This looks excellent and amazing quality too.

I have been using this on for quite a while and I am really rather happy with it. I know a lot of the ZD equipment is popular, but I do think I will be inflicting those on myself again when this level of quality is so easily available now.

I was going to say it has the look of, JBC or Pace style soldering iron(s) then I seen on the site it says, supports JBC iron tips. Thanks to your direct link Dr A 😀👍 Before I go ahead, as I'm very interested. How long did it take to get to you ? & Will I be able to use you're discount code still around the middle of next month ?
@backofficeshow4 жыл бұрын
That's it, the tips are JBC so you have plenty of spares available should you mash them 😂 If I recall it was around a week or so, so not too long. The discount code should be valid for several months so it should be fine.
@Ratchet_effect4 жыл бұрын
@@backofficeshow Andrew Your a Legend!! I won't mash my tips, I will still buy the range I will use daily for it. In-fact, I still have some old irons and tips that are 30+ years old, granted they don't see much light of day now days, but still as I'm sure you do, we look after our equipment. Thanks again may you 🖖

Those tips are bad for general purpose work, they don't provide enough area of contact to transfer heat quickly.
@backofficeshow4 жыл бұрын
I disagree, I have used this iron exclusively for months and have had no issues. You would need to be doing a lot of heavy soldering for it to be an issue and most people are not soldering massive heat sinks to PCBs all day.

Never a good review if you haven’t used your own money, and, your allowed to keep the iron for free! If you gave it a bad review , do you have to send it back?
@backofficeshow4 жыл бұрын
I often give bad reviews and warn anyone sending me items that they run that risk. They make no requirement to send anything back. And I stand by it, it's a fantastic iron and I use it daily no issues so far.
@johnburrows79384 жыл бұрын
@@backofficeshow so the point is, you got to keep the iron, regardless of good or bad review? Just checked your vids...not many bad reviews, unless I’m missing something?
@backofficeshow4 жыл бұрын
They I can assure you any KZbin channel turns down more offers than they receive. KZbinrs will cherry pick the best items unless they are paid to do the review. That is why you see a 'paid promotion' type message being required. Also that is also how crap products seen to get good reviews, their promotors are paying KZbinrs to do them.
@johnburrows79384 жыл бұрын
@@backofficeshow I think your still missing the whole point.... the best KZbin reviews usually have bought the products with there own funds. My view anyway...still, viewers can make up their own minds 👍
