Once you straighten out the legs to form the sides of the truck, you need to push the ends in and the sides will compress at the knee joints. That would help you with your truck mode tolerances.

I got mine yesterday and love it. The figure has great presence, and feels great in-hand (very weighty). I don't understand everyone's issue with the colors. The green is a shade too light but close enough, and the hue is spot-on. The green on Badcube's Brawny is waaaay too dark and slightly too cool. I do wish the silver on the helmet was a bit darker, but other than that, this guy looks great. As for articulation, it's not as good as some figures, but it's Brawn, and he wasn't the most agile bot anyway. The figure can execute way more poses than the cartoon Brawn could manage. I look at any limitations as character-appropriate. The transformation is innovative and fun. No offense to BSF (love your honest-as-hell reviews), but you're more than a bit handicapped when it comes to manipulating these toys. I come for your comments and watch elsewhere for clean transformations.

The side flaps can tuck back and the waist swivels normally with out undoing the back pack. Not sure if that counts bc you still have to alter the transformation

I wish he had a better ankle rocker, and I dont like the black dot on the vehicle headlights. Extra metalic eyes would be nice. I am looking forward to him though! Bobby your car isnt completely collapsed on both sides. Also Ive seen other people get enough waist swivel without untabbing the backpack.

I know many people have had an issue with the waist swivel. It is there and you can get a descent amount but due to the amount of paint it gets seized up restricting range, give it a few more attempts and the range will increase without having to transform the backpack. I’m personally not keen on the feet design and look TMNT look haha.

I super enjoyed watching this transformation, the legs splitting open and becoming front and rear wheels was cool to me. Apart from the gaps in the knee joints the bot looks sharp.

I liked the review, super honest and in-depth. I appreciated your comments about the Bad Cube Brawny. If I had that one I would stick with it rather than picking this one up. It isn't perfect but it is still really good and you certainly don't have to worry about chipping the paint doing the transformation. I certainly like transforming all of mine periodically just to enjoy the engineering and see them in their alt modes for a few days.

Hey Bobby. I had the same trouble with pushing down the " rooftop ". It was definitely scary. I found that I was able to gain clearance for some reason if you pulled the legs out of the way. The rooftop pushes down way easier then you can snap everything else together. Thanks dude. Always look forward to your content.

The problem that manufacturers dont understand is that sure, you can force things down and shove them into place,...but what about when you have to reverse those moves!? It is so fricking difficult to pull stuff out that you just had to shove with herculean might into the spot its stuck in.

So this guy is more Lupus than Hoodlum - both look great but one's a lot more functional than the other. I hope fanstoys isn't heading down a path where aesthetics are ALL that matter. Yes that is perhaps their greatest strength, but that cannot carry a good release alone.

Good honest review. Kind of wished you could have shown it next to Brawny in Alt mode. I still think its a good offering. You know they are going to release a X version of this guy and maybe even a darker green color. That's just the days we live in now. Till next time!

I love the idea of this and the leg transformation is really impressive. But the alt mode kinda drops the ball. I know they want to keep that back pack minimal but that just doesn't look like an old Landrover to me

What bugs me about this release, is the time this guys design and look has been out in the marketplace. No, we didn’t know how he was going to transform, etc. , but he’s been out long enough for FansToys to make him perfect. They didn’t rush this guy to production it doesn’t seem.

The alt mode is certainly odd, I do quite like it actually but its not what I'd expected and I wouldn't blame anyone for not being onboard. He's decent overall, but I'm not blown away. Just happy to have a brawn finally.

Mine is on it's way. This may be the 1st time I use 1 figure for bot mode and a different one for alt mode. He definitely looks nicer then B.C.'s in bot mode but I'm worried about the transformation not being worth the result.

Metallic paint on the dome bothers me, it is so reflective it looks washed out. I saw the same thing with the prototype at TFCon as well.

So I have this, and I do like it. I know that it is a better product than mu BadCube Brawn. Better paint, material and sculpt. But somehow, it just feels less alive. The BC Brawn oozes plucky bruiser personality. The FT one is just kind of there. Don’t know what to do yet.

So this being a mini bot, is it possible that this is just what we can expect from FansToys regarding articulations? If I were spending north of $120 I would definitely expect more in the way of double joints, ankle ups and downs etc., but for the sub $100 bots perhaps this what that price range gets you with them. Idk, just my thoughts. The sculpt and overall presentation still is head and “showders” above any other brawn offering available. Thanks for the review.

Fiddling around with him I found the the sides need to be push in as you press the bottom flap. Good review Bobby. I like him, but far from perfect for what should be standard now a days.

You didn't collapse the leg halves together, to tighten up the sides of the vehicle. That's why the front section wasn't coming together. As for the bottom flap - I got nothin !

I found that the chest in mine seems to need another coat of orange paint. I can almost see through it on the sides of his chest. As a Fanstoys Enthusiast I am quite disappointed. Paint is their strength and here it doesn’t show.

@@Levi_52_336 I agree with Allen. Yeah a 5-6 is average articulation, but this figure is below that. Bot mode looks good. I wouldn't rate transformation at an 8 either. Seems like he had to apply a lot of force to pop the top into place. Makes me wonder how many transformations it could withstand.

Just transformed it, and you missed a bunch of tabs. The tops clicks down easily if you have the sides properly compressed, and the back flap works perfectly once the bumper tabs lock in. Like your zetacron review you just keep skipping over tabs and it makes the rest of the transformation look worse than it is.

FT is notably on a decline. They haven't kept up with the times. The articulation has been slowly going down the past few releases, which is shocking. Gives plenty of room for Takara or XTB to put out a better product.

FansToys have made a lot of great stuff recently, but I was expecting this to suck since it was revealed, and it seems I was right. Which is unfortunate, because I really want a good Brawn figure, but I think I'll just keep waiting. The feet, whilst cleverly engineered, look awful to me, the "broken" knees are unsightly, and the vehicle mode is all sorts of wrong (the high edges cutting off the front doors, for example, look even goofier than the G1 cartoon model and toy). That's to say nothing of all the other issues he has. Heck, the colours are off as well, especially with the mix of flat and metallic paint (pick one or the other, dammit), and I usually don't complain much about colours (their Blurr, for example, is perfectly fine to me colour-wise). Such a shame, too, because I feel like FansToys have been on a roll lately, and this seems to be the only figure one could easily consider "bad" amongst all their recent figures.

It's too bad that 3rd parties are not designing a way to store or peg the gun in bot mode. But when you have a shelves of figures, it's a pain to remember whose gun belongs to who if you take a gun out. Brawn's legs are too long. His feet should essentially be where his ankles are. It feels like they based his transformation and design around his leg and tried to get everything else to work. It explains why the alt mode and lower legs don't look right.
