I think Fantano is a part of the new celebrity interview-style (Sean Evans, Nardwuar etc.) where they don’t interview to make headlines but the interview is the content. It has a lot to do with podcasts becoming what it is today where a conversation can become content. Therefore when you interview for KZbin/twitch the issue isn’t to get the interviewee to say something interesting but to engage them in an interesting topic.

good job, man. She seems like an awesome person, and that really came through in the interview. @@pughuky5018 _"But dissonance appears on Daddy’s Home whenever Clark’s louche time-traveling character collides with the political tensions of the present day. It’s odd, for example, that two songs on the album refer to calling “the cops,” or 911, in light of the past year’s uprisings against police brutality. A reference to Nina Simone’s “Mississippi Goddam” in “The Melting of the Sun” is similarly ill-considered. Like Hozier before her, Clark dilutes Simone’s fierce and intentional anti-racist activism by listing her alongside white celebrities. The album’s title track deploys a sticky bassline, a syncopated funk groove, and the voices of seasoned Black back-up singers Kenya Hathaway and Lynne Fiddmont to tell the story of Clark and her father, a white man who committed a white-collar crime. Why deploy the conventions of Black music to reckon with his sins? Why wear a mask at all?"_ holy shit dude

48:15 gee, thanks for saying what needs to be said. Paul's experimental side was for more pronounced than John's. Apart from a few extreme and thoroughly unenjoyable instances (eg. Two Virgins, Revolution 9) John was really not that much into the crazy, experimental, or rebellius ways of making music. He made four, samey, clean, classic rock/pop albums, and a basic rock and roll cover album in the first half of the 70s. Which had great bits, but were not revolutionary in any way. While Paul's first 6 albums all had a different sound, and with his first two he basically created a new genre.
