i feel like the covers of the caretaker's "everywhere at the end of time" are worthy of a mention. painstakingly made by ivan seal to induce the feelings of not being able to recognize familiar objects/imagery. goes incredibly well with the concept of the albums. what do you think? stage 3 in particular looks like incredibly aggressive and entangled almost fluid seaweed, which sounds way more hilarious in words than it was in my mind. but yeah, it gives that unsettling feeling of looking into murky water without being able to see the bottom of it., which i find fascinating!

Not only Mellon Collie, but Siamese Dream is an amazing cover too. The juxtaposition of two little girls in angle costumes to the grand rock roller coaster of an album. I think the cover art for London Calling is the best album art of all time by a considerable margin. To me the image of Paul Simonon smashing his bass is a defining image of Rock 'n' Roll, and specifically punk and The Clash. The use of the text design from Elvis' first LP demonstrates how The Clash took onboard their many influences and explored them on the record, giving a nod to the past while simultaneously bringing them up-to-date and taking them forward. The best album of all time in my opinion, wouldn't change a single thing about it.
