I keep mine in the fridge since I live alone, like you said it's hard to finish it by yourself. For a big pack, I keep it in the freezer and take it out as needed either at the beginning of the week or toast it in the moment.

Happy New year. I know the struggle with the cart. I use mine and I'm 60. I have to lift from my knees to keep my back from going out and I have 2 short flights to travel up lol. I keep my bread in the fridge because it takes me a long time to eat it. If you arent gonna eat that 2nd loaf soon you can freeze it and then put it in the fridge to let it soften for you to eat it. Dont worry it wont be wet lol.
