I really liked when 10 said "Fantastic". Just a simple nod to let Rose know it's still the same doctor. That whole Christmas special was about Rose feeling like the Doctor had died and he's not coming back. The 11th Doctor is still by far my favorite.

I find it ridiculous to see the Matt Smith hate. Every actor who has portrayed the Doctor has done so in a specific way that reflects that version of the Doctor. Matt Smith was the last iteration of the Doctor before he came to terms with the Time War. He chose to no longer regret the time war, but rather forget it. His eccentric, child like behavior sets him free from his past. Now that he has been freed of his past burdens, I'm sure we will see a more mature confident Doctor in Peter Capaldi as the "13th" Doctor.

Dr Who has this weird thing where if one of the Doctors regenerates into a new one, you go: 'No, not yet. I'm not ready for a new doctor yet. I want more of this one.' followed by you disliking the new doctor for a while simply for being new and having the nerve to take away 'your' doctor, but then after a while, you grow to accept them and come to see them in the same affectionate way you viewed the previous Doctor. When the Ninth regenerated, I was like: 'Too soon. We didn't get enough time with him.' I was pissed that he left so soon and swore never to watch Dr Who again, but ofcourse I couldn't resist and Tennant grew on me and became the Doctor. Then he regenerated and again, I was like: 'Too soon! I want more of this guy.' I wanted to hate Matt Smith for replacing him, but I couldn't because he too made the part his own and you just learn to cope over time. Dr Who is weird that way. I do still think that the Ninth Doctor left way too soon, though. I understand that Eccleston didn't get along with the higher ups running the show and all that, but I still wished we had more time with him before they brought Tennant aboard. 2 more series of Eccleston would have been great, but alas...

What I'd like to see happen is that someone who knows things about Time Lords will be there when Capaldi regenerates, says that it's impossible, and 14 just smiles and says "Yeah, but when's that stopped me before?"

Eccelston is my favorite because he really does look like a time traveler. A timelord. Also if you think about it, the first episode with rose and eccelston ,which was terrific, could not have been played as well with either tennant or smith. There is a certain strong chemistry between eccelston and rose that really wasnt there with tennant.
