I hate how they're trying to portray it as "Oh, Newt's the only one that can defeat Grindelwald!". Except, we know he didn't and doesn't. DUMBLEDORE DID. "I can't move against Grindelwald, it has to be you Newt." Bullshit it does. (We also know Newt's in no real danger at all, because he still has to live to have kids.)

Mari Hillestad In the books Dumbledore says that he dreaded and avoided facing Grindelwald because he was afraid of the truth about the night his sister died. Dumbledore, his brother and Grindelwald were all fighting, and Dumbledore didn't know whose spell was the one that accidentally killed his sister, and his greatest fear was that it was actually his own spell. And he was afraid that if Grindelwald had seen whose spell was the killing one he would reveal it. Then, of course, we need to see the movie, because it may also be that Dumbledore still retains some fondness for Grindelwald. And there could be other reasons: maybe Grindelwald knows Dumbledore too well, and whatever DUmbledore does would be predictable; or Dumbledore was forbidden from intervening at this point by the Ministry for Magic.

You totally missed his point.. he meant that it was some kind of magic, at that point not very known by the world, but for a few to read.. it started so small, simple 90's magic, and now being all transformed into something more... so it fits a bigger audience. Something beyond the unique hocus pocus vibe that surrounded the first book. Twas just that it had some magical childhood thing over it. It had warm sentiment. Alas, that will not be the same. But still, the magic goes on from generation to generation. Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Always.

Chimcharfan1 I know... but I’d still want to know what happened haha, besides, the Harry Potter movies/books don’t give a lot of information about Newt so that’s interesting too, and how in this period of time they weren’t allowed to even talk to muggles, I’d like to know how that changed, and how the world we knew in Harry Potter came to be.

The problem with making movies from the past is that it doesn't matter because we know the end already. Like opening a book and reading the last page. That was the problem with The Hobbit

Well these movies aren't meant to give us the suspense on what's going to happen. It's to give us a visual of what happened already. Bringing those memories Dumbledore talked about in the books to life.

Johnny Depp is one hell of an actor... Since his first film he has nailed all his characters ( whether the film is a box office hit or flop that's another story) Whichever character he plays I know it will never be a disappointment :)

F-ing awesome. Movies like this reminds why I love movies so much. They take me to a place of pure joy and fantasy. It still blows my mind at how far movie effects have come. They can pretty much do anything you can dream or imagine.😊
