What a brilliant gala it was, great selection of visitors and an in-form home fleet. The loco that really stood out to me was the Hymek, she was much louder than I expected.

Seeing the variety of locos here takes me back to the days when I used to go spotting them and there was so many all over the country. Not so great now!

@philclarke3203 rubbish now isn't it? I drove slammers for a living and in 2005 they faded them.out for 444's and 450's. It killed the passion for me. I did find it a bit sad tho when I read yesterday that the 70's are stored at Toton and have been for 10 years. I actually quite like those for modern locos.

@@soulman3590 yes , not much interesting in the modern trains, units especially! Not just sad but ridiculous that these newish locos are in store. Luckily we still have some heritage traction on the mainline, thanks to the chairman of a certain company! @@philclarke3203 I have never seen it so busy on a Friday before, glad for the railway. Saturday was very busy as expected as well. My train there was about 20 late due to being diverted via Wakefield otherwise I would of caught the train you were on.
