Back in high school, I saw a bootleg copy of the Fantastic Four flick. It was cheap. It was cheesy. It was charming. Honestly, I think that Marvel could get some love out of the movie by embracing what it’s origins were in the cinematic universe as opposed to trying to desperately to sweep it under the rug.

Same. I was actually interested from some of the earlier trailers and I sort of liked the more gritty sort of Alien-inspired take on what the characters were. Also, I actually thought, considering what his character was like in Chronicle, that Michael B. Jordan would be perfect as Johnny. Then the behind the scenes drama was made more visible and the thing came out. Oh GOD, the movie made me single-handedly wish Chris Nolan didn't inspire almost every non-MCU property to think being dark and gritty means "mature" with his Batman trilogy. I saw Ant-Man again just to wash the taste out of my mouth.

@Angelus It gets WORSE Marvel/Disney want To do a Fantastic Four reboot in the MCU Unfortunately the Problem with that is that they want the Fantastic Four to be Early to mid 20s which tells the fans that we won't be getting the 616 take on the Fantastic Four Instead we will be getting the 1610 Ultimate Universe version, which NO BODY LIKES (especially considering the 2015 movie) They also want to race swap the characters proving that they haven't learned their lessons from the failure of the 2015 movie, it's honestly quite sad that the Fantastic Four is the one group of characters that Marvel can never get right in live-action.

22:40 "believing Victor to be dead" If the audience is somehow fooled too (non-comic readers who don't recognize the name so they think he's just an expendable 'red-shirt' character with a big personality), this could be a reeeeally great plotline. And even if they aren't, it's still pretty good. 27:48 "Van Dam is known behind his back by the nickname "Von Doom"." I actually like this change. It's kinda like the Two Face nickname in Dark Knight but pre-dates it, and it's more interesting cause it's a phonetic perversion/mispronunciation of his real name and not given the same kind of literal visual justification, yet he embraces it? Interesting stuff. Cool character move.

CHARACTERS. 3 of the 4 Ultimate FF were Likeable/Heroic, the series also went a bit too far In terms of the unnecessar SHOCK VALUE from Mark Millar such as Killing off both Sue and Johnny's parents in the most mess up ways possible and in the case of Sue and Johnny's Mom she got the WORST of it from Dr. Doom whose idea to get back both Sue and Johnny Was to kidnap their mother dressed her up like Dr. Doom to fool the FF into thinking she is him and when FF goes save her they find Doom (sue and Johnny's Mom) Blinded by Anger The Thing Beats up Doom to a Bloody mess Until to the SHOCK of the FF it was Sue and Johnny's Mom behind the mask who now lays dead as a result of the Thing's beating, THIS WAS/IS the most Messed up moment in the Ultimate Universe from Mark Millar's run Ultimate Fantastic Four and NO BODY LIKED THE STORY because it was pretty much seen as SHOCK VALUE with Little to NO SUBSTANCE, the Sales of the Ultimate Fantastic Four would continue to decline until Ultimatum, on the side Ultimate Sue storm and Ben Grimm become a couple (even though Ben Killed her & Johnny's Mom), it was due to this that Ultimate Reed left the FF Due to Sue Rejecting him and finding out Her Relationship with Ben (his best friend) he saw this as a Betrayal of Trust from people he thought he could Trust As a Result Ultimate Reed became the Known as The Maker who is one of the better characters/villains to come out of The Ultimate Universe

A carefully scripted and big budget production of The Herculoids is almost certain to be a blockbuster. People remembers this cartoon series as interesting with unique creatures and with a foundation of a Swiss family Robinson- type of a family. Very bankable concept. I always believed Marvel Comics should clean up the relationship of Reed Richards & Ben Grim. There's best friends??! The 2 really don't have anything in common. This video was made before the Polygon article about Josh Trank came out. Some of the things mentioned in it were that Trank was the one who brought Jeremy Slater on to write. Slater wanted an Avengers style movie while Trank openly hated it and demanded it be darker. Trank actually didn't get any flack from the studio until after the first cut was screened. He didn't even have an ending filmed, so a "director's cut" is practically nonexistent. From then on the movie was wrestled away and given to editor Stephen Rivkin to fix based on shots that just "looked good".

You do miss two fantastic four movies technically D’s movies don’t involve the fantastic four in the plot or show up in the movie however these involve fantastic four characters being Dr. doom and silver surfer talk to Dean was more into development then silver surfer and we have more information about it seems to it being name drop at comicon and also having aPremise basically were supposed to be ripping on the Winter soldier but still being a cold war spy movie with Dr. doom and the big question would be is dark to do my hero is Dr. do my billing what does he want but then when Disney bought fox the whole plan of Dr. doom and silver surfer was cancelled also you did not talk much about fantastic for 3 directed by Tim story featuring the black panther and read and Sue’s baby also you didn’t mention the 2012 original draft for fantastic four where Galactica rule over the other dimension and took Doctor doom as he is Harold with a big fight at the end in Ladera and collectors trying to consume planet earth also how the fantastic four were originally supposed to show up in Deadpool 2 where colossus would go to Bleecker Street to have a fight with the thing

That time travel script sounds interesting and could be neat if a similar idea was used for the next movie. The FF are battling Doom through time in what seems like a completely separate universe from the other marvel films, only for their time travel shenanigans to be what creates MCU. It could give the ending a bittersweet note. Doom's plans are foiled, but the Fantastic Four can't go back to their comparatively happier & more innocent world of the eternal 1960s.

Honestly, I feel that isnone way to retroactively introduce the FF while explaining their absence so far. They've been locked into Battle with doom in other timelines or a parallel dimension where time passes differently. And because they're missing, we don't get an Illuminati vs Thanos reality, or a Doom ripping Thanos' spine out reality, but the one we got to see onnscreen instead

I think he'd made a decent profit for Fox with 'Taxi' with a low budget plus it seems the studio were insistent on keeping it light and comedic.

@@SupervoidCinema i liked F4 05 myself when I saw it at 10 years old, looking back I see the flaws of not much action and too much talking it's good but he was out of his depth. The past scripts got the jist.
