Don't worry about not scratching the surface on that bank, Theo - I'll be happy to come help you clean it up. :'D

If im being honest, if i were to get some help with a spot, i would MUCH prefer to go further downstream; this place has a lot of potential but there are frankly WAAAAY better spots with WAAAY more agates downstream!😄 i just like it because it's the only remotely halfway decent site without having to drive for an hour, but if i lived closer to hysham or forsythe i would be over there every day!🤣 i want to get back downstream so bad! Looks like winter might finally be showing up this week so it might have to wait awhile unfortunately😅 glendive is calling my name!😭

Not at all, this winter has been CRAZY for Montana! We usually have inches-feet of snow and below freezing-negative temperatures this time of year! 40-60 degrees is just madness for Montana this time of year; not that I'm complaining! It's been awesome being able to get out and do some hounding in winter without having to bundle up!👍

Just found your channel today, gave been watching Agate Dad and Agate Angler, both I love. Was a rockhound as a kid growing up in NM and at 59 have rediscovered it thanks to you and the others. My husband and I went out near Phoenix (we live outside if Tucson) and went hunting fire agates after seeing Taylors video about it (agate Dad but you probably know him) and brought home about 1/4 bucket (tidy cat bucket) of rocks.vlots of thick miss or algae that I was having trouble getting off and then you mentioned muratic acid and I found that vinegar works really well! So thanks for leading me to that! I'll send some photos on instagram. New subscriber, love the channel and your cute enthusiasm! So much fun to watch,!

When petrified wood is pure black like that, Im pretty sure it is also called carbonized wood. We have a lot of that here in the Northwest too. Oh man that jasper replacement wood is also just crazy awesome. Those are just all amazing finds Theo! And the green agate has gotta be a rarity for that area, Ive never seen you find one like that before. You gotta go back to that gravel bar for sure!

What a collection of finds, my nephew would go absolutely nuts pick rocks there. He has been spending the last month picking rocks here ion the Willamette Valley and he is not finding anything like what you are finding. Used to get out and pick rocks before my stroke, now it is too difficult for me to negotiate the few rock bars near where I live. You got a new subscriber.

Funny that you think your comments could jinx your hunt I'm surprised you don't say "knock on wood" 😁 I'm curious about that large rectangular pet wood, if the slabs will be translucent or have other colors inside
@TheoKellison3 жыл бұрын
Its just kind of a universal Montanan thing; the weather changes so amazingly quickly here that you better not comment on it being nice out or the snow or rain will definitely roll in🤣😂 and me too! That one is marked to be one of the first rocks to get cut when the blade for my new saw gets here!😄 very curious about that one!

Hello from Ohio. Next time you do a cutting video, please talk about how you choose to cut in a certain direction. You cut wood with the grain. Why? I would have cut cross grain. And is there a way to shin up a rock without polish or tools? Thanks.

2:37 what are all those blue or green smaller rocks? I have never seen a green agate. That is not saying mush with my lack of experience. You guys have a huge honey hole of beauty near you. Stay safe and havagudun Theo.

Wow I don’t know where you’re hiding spot is where you went looking for all this but it’s a beautiful place lots of beautiful beautiful stones and if you cut the green one could I get a small slice off or a little piece to make a ring out of it

What a great spot! You always find the best rocks. I"d like you to do me a favor and listen to the last 2 minutes of this video. There is HUGE increase in the sound when your background music kicks in at a painful level. If I have my volume set at a level to hear you, which is what I want, then I get blown out of my chair when the music kicks in. Is there anything you can do about it?
