At 9:27 mark of this video that is a rock that has green spots and an opening that looks green inside. What kind of rock is that? I have a similar one I found up near Copper Harbor about 20 years ago

I live in Alabama... im making a trip to upper peninsula ( lake Superior) at the end of October. Could you recommend where i should look for agate and other stones. Rock hounding is a hobby of mine and i told my wife that 1 whole day is devoted to rocking. Lol... She didn't like that too much.... But she agreed.

Late to the party, but your part of Lake Superior looks amazing! I’m on the southern part of Lake Erie in Ohio. . . We get algae blooms and garbage on our shores. 😢 To all the rock hounds here, I’m glad I found this channel!

Loved all the agates they where amazing. Bills agates, wow. I've been picking up agates all my life. My grandfather had beach front property. He would teas my siblings and I and say there's an agate, and it would be a piece of beach glass. We'd laugh😂 at him, and go look for more of our little beach gems.

I've found so many of my best agates and jaspers after almost passing them over. I always flip rocks now because sometimes the most glorious material is just out of sight underneath or buried in the sand. I found an AMAZING blue agate (I love in the Mojave) but almost passed it over because I thought it was some glass or plastic because I was down by the shooting range and figured it was just more shattered target material. Moral of the story: don't pass it up. Sure, it's probably nothing but then again, it could be the topest of tiers.

I live near lake Michigan and I go rock hunting all the time, and I found a geode that had some amethyst cause of its purple color! It was awesome!

My kids have been getting into rock hounding much more now they're in their teens. My son like to carve faces into agates and my daughter is venturing into Jewlery. It's exciting to me when my kids get excited about a day outing.

Hi Taylor, now if I told you I just watched a video of two guys sitting in a car looking at their rocks what would you think of me ? 😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry Taylor the thought just amused me. Haha. For an ordinary day not a bad little group of rocks to come across, that one with the band of amethyst looks very cool, nice find along with a couple of those other pieces, a good session. Good to see you have a like minded friend to go out hounding with. @@AgateDad that's jars with an s. Lol. Plus I have them in barristers holding specimens of other stuff and the big agates. Gotta say the coolest piece I have is a natural hematite the size of a head that has a boitroidal surface on one side almost as if it was cracked out of a giant sphere. My father brought it up from the mines on the Cuyuna range when he was working underground and it sat in the yard when I was a kid.

@@AgateDad it is! I love the native stones of MN. They fascinate me like no others. Have you ever seen Binghamite? Its the unique stone of the Cuyuna Range. So many unique stones in this state. It could make a rock hound out of anyone I think.
