The instructions are really crazy detailed but I have to say having sewn three dresses and a pair of cargo pants, they fit better than any other pattern without any adjustments. I always get compliments on the makes. So there’s also that. ❤❤

I love that you are stocking more independent pattern companies. You showcased a hoodie that you made from a pattern by Jalie a couple of years ago. I ordered the pattern and the fabric from you and it’s one of my best makes, though I did have to do some adjustments.I also made the Jalie joggers from the same pattern, using your grey sweatshirt fabric and am very pleased with them, especially the pocket detail.

Vikisews has originated in Russia, but once the war broke out Viki opened a sister company under the same name in America. All of their English speaking side of business is now managed by the American company, and no money goes to Russian economy at this point - for those lovely commenters who were wondering. Fabulous review and really lovely fabric choices!! 💖💜❤️

Hi. Can you provide more information on the American sister company? I have searched and can't find any blogs, posts, articles, etc. that VikiSews' business is now under American management and that no funding is being funneled back to or through Russia?? Thank you so much.

at no point they openly condemned the war. The US side of the business could have done it but they completely ignore the issue. During BLM everyone bullied businesses into closure and here people are being killed and nobody cares. Sad

If the device you are using to look at this vlog has a camera you can use that to scan the code. You can then save the instructions to your device. It saves a lot of paper and ink! If you can access a tame ten year old, they will do it for you!

@@SassyTcreates Yes, that would be good. Not everyone has access o an app for reading QR codes. Hmm! When I went to the website and transferred to te UK one from Russian (?) They seemed to be offering the patterns in pdf form or the one where you can get it printed but no seperate links for instructions. Not good for those who want the physical pattern but haven't got the equipment for getting the instructions. That is a pity as they would sell many more patterns if the instructions were more available. Too many companies assume everybody has smart phones and computers.

@@lunasmum6869 You don’t use an app. Do you have a phone? As far as am aware every phone has a camera. Even my ancient phone. Takes about 3 seconds for your camera to scan the code and bring up the page. All you do is select your camera, hover over the code as if to take a picture (but don’t). The camera will scan the code and automatically bring up the page. A bit like when you self service in a shop.

I'm glad I shared the info as you say. Just in case you feel differently when you hear this I thought I'd mention anyone with a mobile phone can scan a QR code. Usually the camera on your phone will do it and if not you can download a free app to do it then just print them off.

I love your fabric choices and I am looking forward to seeing your finished garments.
@lunasmum6869 Жыл бұрын
I think they may be rying to cut down on the size of that beautiful packaging and to save on printing keeping costs down. Also, they may have considered some dressmakers could manage without instructions. I think it is the way everything is going now. A lot of different things I have bought have online instructions now. In other cases there is a huge instruction book with 2 pages in English and the rest in numerous languages. I'm not sure I like this trend, I prefer to have my instructions with the pattern. I've been sewing for many years now but there are always bits I need to refer to.
@SewEssential Жыл бұрын
The instructions are on A4 so not expensive to print, the only alternative would be to view them on your phone, but I understand what you mean about preferring a printed copy to refer to. Thanks for sharing.
