Cool album. I'll be doing a series of Beatles fantasy albums on my channel soon enough. One of the reasons why I'm glad the Beatles broke up when they did is because they just seemed to stop rocking after 1969. The podcast Beatles Naked did an episode of their Beatles 1971 fantasy album. Each of the two hosts had their own versions, and what struck me is how middle of the road and depressing both versions were. Not one balls out rock track on either album. And that's when I realized that the Beatles called it quits at the exact right time. Cheers!

very cool tracklist; I listened to it in that running order, flows together nicely, and everything you say makes sense! I think I will also attempt something like that with my next video; I think - since I'm also an absoulute nerd when it comes to that - I already have my beatles fantasy albums written down somewhere; will look into that...

Thanks Stefan! I intend to go through the 70s and do more of these at some point. I'm working on a '71 album, '73 and '74/'75. Even possibly a 1980 album.

yeah, in my scenario they will also take a break from 74/75 until the early 80s, so that John has the time to learn how to make bread

Great choices! Hard to argue any. I love the song Junk but would have replaced it with Teddy Boy. I see that more Beatle like plus…and you are right… Paul’s songs weren’t quite albumish. More art/statement album. And Teddy Boy was demoed I believe around the white album? I would’ve put Wah wah instead I’d have you anytime. I can see the Beatles doing that one more.

Because I'm a stickler: Ringo is NOT on (in addition to Let It Be and not counting America albums) A Hard Days Night or Magical Mystery Tour

Further illustrating my point: a Ringo track is not essential.
@deadpan80
@deadpan80 2 жыл бұрын
@@AsItShouldBePodcast very true but Lennon and McCartney were always keen to include him whenever they could (sometimes going out of their way). One could argue that had they continued on, and if Ringo himself didn’t write a song like he did previously, a song would have been provided. Granted, based on how your compiling your fantasy album, and the bands practices around this time with no covers, it makes sense why Ringo is not included from what was available in 1970
@AsItShouldBePodcast
@AsItShouldBePodcast 2 жыл бұрын
@@deadpan80 Yeah, exactly. Honestly, I would much prefer to have a Ringo track on the album but there really just wasn't anything that seemed plausible. But I will at some point post a 1971 album, and Ringo will most definitely be on that one!

What about Ringo's 1970's songs like GOODNIGHT VIENNA, PHOTOGRAPH and/or IT AIN'T EASY (which sounds like a Harrison-Starr collaboration)? Aways thought that The Monkees were ripe to do a kind of send-up of themselves as well as the Beatles at the same time by coming out with an album called EVOLVER, working off the idea of them being "monkeys" undergoing evolution as a band and music and "aping" (pun semi-intended) the look/feel of the Beatles's REVOLVER album.
@AsItShouldBePodcast
@AsItShouldBePodcast 2 жыл бұрын
Well, this is supposed to be a 1970 album and Goodnight Vienna is 1974, Photograph is 1973, and It Don't Come Easy, which I suppose is what you meant by the third one, is 1971. None of those Ringo tracks would have existed yet when Everest would've been made.

Seems strange to reject something because of the sound of the available track when the song would have been recorded differently on "Everest."

But that version doesn't exist. Have to go with tracks as they exist and how that particular version works in context
@Eytan_Mirsky

@@AsItShouldBePodcast I see what you are saying but I don't know why you wouldn't imagine the songs being brought in to the sessions and being worked up more in Beatles style. After all, you are imagining an album that doesn't exist.
@AsItShouldBePodcast
@AsItShouldBePodcast 3 жыл бұрын
@@Eytan_Mirsky I do imagine that but imagination is as far as it can go. Besides the song in question isn't essential anyway.
@AsItShouldBePodcast
@AsItShouldBePodcast 3 жыл бұрын
@@Eytan_Mirsky Oh and something else that may not be clear. I'm creating an album I can actually listen to, so it has to be able to exist beyond imagination. If the only recorded version of the song had been done in, say, 1985 and was awash in synths and drum machines I wouldn't put it on a 1970 LP even if the song itself had existed at the time because it simply wouldn't work as a listening experience.

OK. Let's argue. This is gonna be a L O N G comment so... gonna start with my tracklist up front and then explain it. Side A Instant Karma (We All Shine On) My Sweet Lord Every Night I Found Out Junk Isn't It A Pity Side B What Is Life? That Would Be Something Working Class Hero All Things Must Pass Coochy-Coochy Love Maybe I'm Amazed

- Interesting argument for having Maybe I'm Amazed at the front...honestly, the fact that it's so good is why I put it at the END, capping off a killer run of ATMP/Love/Maybe I'm Amazed. - Like you said, the whole album's pretty mellow... I had been thinking of swapping I Found Out for Isolation. - You didn't take singles into account. in my 1970, the singles (last ones to be non-album tracks) are Cold Turkey / Behind That Locked Door and Maybe I'm Amazed / I Found Out. - Can't wait to see your 1971...that's my fave era
