Fantasy Anime Is Entering A New Era | Gigguk Reaction!!

the Witch Hat Atelier manga is great and it's one of my favorites! I am excited for the anime adaptation but I think that even if it ends up being really good, there's no way for it to fully capture the beauty & detail of the manga art. As well as the wonderful creativty of the paneling within the series. (That doesn't mean the anime won't have it's own worth and be its own thing tho!) I love the story, themes, the characters, and like Gigguk said, the magic system is truly out of this world awesome. The manga has also won multiple awards across different countries, including an Eisner award and a Harvey Award. Kamome Shirahama (the mangaka/creator) has also drawn covers and concept artwork for Marvel, DC, and Star Wars comics. A queen she is!!!!

Been a while since I watched a solo Gigguk video, and this one was a major highlight! This in-depth analysis definitely sold me on Witch Hat Atelier!

I actually read some of the manga and it's good. I didn't read too much of it, but it's definitely worthwhile and I need to get back into it. I'm excited for the anime when it releases!

This magic system reminds me of a "Fullmetal Alchemist magic system" where they use Alchemy and only focus on functionality, and brief explanations of their system, which is complicated enough and minimally explained, that you don't ask too many questions, and just focus on other things, while in this new anime the "Witch Hat Atelier" as it will be called in English, the magic system is the focus, and it is broken down into fundamentals, explaining the details of combinations to get specific effects of magic, while in Fullmetal Alchemist those details of Alchemy within the circle are not explained, because we just have this trust in our characters in the story who use or learn this system "our character knows what he's doing, there's no need for me to follow the whole process, which has a lot of boring parts", and we return to the character when the research is complete, and they have finished seals that work perfectly, while in this new anime the whole process of putting together that perfect seal is shown, because that's the point, us getting to know this magical system in this way, with that we get to know our heroine of the story we're following, and with that we get to know everything else. Both anime have very similar magic systems, and that doesn't make one show or system better than the other, but just interesting in unique ways, and that's what I love about this.

I'm glad he spoke about the moral dilemma because the main character does face the hardest decisions, and correct or wrong are really a grey area, i want to root for the heroes, but the villains make such good points
