Anybody else watching this who watched as Hell sing Ultimate abridge was coming out? Because, what I mean by that, Hell sing ultimate is only 10 episodes long, TFS abridged and parodied, but what they did is they'd only release another episode every Halloween.. So it took them 10 years to fully parody their abridged version fully.. I was their since episode one and they made me truly anticipate Halloween ( I live in the ghetto and trick or treating isn't very big.. I mean, unless you wanna get shot :/) But has anyone else been watching TFS when they started this abridged series?.. Because you're a real OG if you've been their since their release of episode one and continued to watch them until episode 10, 10 years later... Plus it's complete now.. And it was 100% worth the 10 year wait to see them fully finish their abridged version.. Also, Hell Sing Ultimate is great unabridged, and so is Hell Sing alone, definitely worth a watch if you can find it

yea, and ive rewatched it 3 times over the years (centuries in internet speak). was there when they first released episode 1 before they combined episodes 1-3 into 1 episode. the only thing is that, i would wait a few years for more episodes to come out, then get caught up, then wait a few more years. my most recent rewatch of the series was i think last year. and ive been on youtube for 13 years...

This episode has such a huge range of emotional cues and really speedruns Alucard's motivations for why he does what he does. I think I'd be pretty devoid of a moral fiber if I was left to be a plaything for Roman soldiers for ten years as well, to be perfectly frank.

While TFS did a pretty good job adapting Hellsing (honestly, maybe even a too good of a job, I remember that on my first watch I was a little disappointed how little they changed - they mostly just cut off the comedic scenes which is very funny when written like this ^^), there are a few things they fumbled a bit, and this episode has one of them. Specifically, in the original it was very clear that Alucard wants to die, but as much as he has gotten excited at the idea in the past (eg. Ep 2, when they start the fight with Luke Valentine, and Luke has the upper hand at first - Alucard gets super into it, and actually respects Luke until he learns that Luke doesn't have any powers) - but as much as Alucard wants to die, he will ONLY allow himself to be killed by a human. If a human proves strong and brave enough to do Alucards job - he would allow it to happen. IF Anderson didn't use the nail and turn into a monster, I think Alucard would let him win. But since he did, Alucard had to stop it no matter the cost. It was very well explained in the original, and while TFS does have the pieces of dialogue to piece it together, it doesn't really come across that well imho.

Mmhmm. In the manga, Alucard repeatedly states "Only a man can kill a monster" and references those who aren't strong or brave enough to be "men" as "dogs" (like the SWAT teams in Brazil). And when Anderson pulls out the Nail, he gets fucking livid even before he uses it. Its a moodchange of breakneck speed.

I disagree, only because I think they mostly just skipped that part of Alucard's character here. Yes they have that bit where he tells Seras that she has something he lost, the will to live, but with the God/Satan scene and what they wanted to do with their version of Alucard there wasn't anywhere to introduce that part of his character that made sense. The waters from the Mediterranean flow across the Atlantic, through the Gulf of Mexico, and return to the Mediterranean after crossing the Atlantic towards Europe. If you've ever heard how, when surfing in the Pacific, you need a wetsuit while basically nobody on the East Coast owns a wetsuit, that's almost entirely because the East Coast has a constant cycle of warm waters. So yes, Alucard WAS a few miles out to sea, but the water just naturally moves back towards the English Channel anyway.

a few things, Alucard moved the boat very slowly with telekinesis. second, Andersons VA wrote this episode with Taka and Kaiser to give Anderson the best send off possible, and third, TFS' major was always with the Nazis because what they could provide him as a commander. they had the best guns then, and artificial vampires now. Taka once said he would have joined the funky banana boys if they had better guns.

How did he get the ship here? The canon explanation is that he can control vehicles like he did in the original Dracula novel. In fact, this is a direct reference to that. The actual canon explanation is that he is HIM. Anyway, TFS generally did a pretty good job with this adaptation, but in my opinion, I think this episode drags a little. It also has some truly hard lines, so that's cool.

So something the abridged version doesn’t touch on much is that Alucard wants to die. He’s a monster who’s dedicated to killing other monster, but he knows he needs to go too. So he wants a human to one day be strong enough to kill him. Anderson had become the human closest to that goal. But here we see him fauler, and become a monster to destroy a monster, and so Alucard can’t let that happen. Not again.
