This is a fun and challenging solo for unaccompanied horn. The background is the Mormon Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City where I perform most weeks as a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, Subscribe! I will be adding more solos on a regular basis. I teach horn at a University and my goal is to create a video library of some of the best horn solos for my students and others. Also let me know if there is something you would like me to record. Check out my website at www.steveparkhornmusic.net.

Being in Highschool where pretty much no one can ever play the french horn to save their life, it's always nice being able to hear an extremely talented horn player

Adorable piece, fabulous playing, as usual! But what a chops buster! No rests, piano interlude; just constant, non stop playing all over the range for nearly 4 minutes! How many horn players can even do this? Every video you produce amazes me, but this one tops my "wow" list.

I recorded this at home, but I already had the picture of the Tabernacle and knew I was going to use it as a background, so I added extra reverb to the recording.

Oh my goodness, you sound phenomenal. I plan to perform this piece for my college auditions which are coming up. As a student, the goal is first to imitate, then make your own. Thank you for being the artist that I strive to imitate. 🙏🏽

I learned how to play this song because of you. I still can not play it really well, but I know it's a lot better than it would have been without listening, so, thank you. You are fantastic.

Catchy even jocular character in the opening turns to nice almost mellow, mysterious with Steves substantial tone, ending in echoes before the refrain. Now, typical horn music, very nice and virtuoso, I guess- all horns should like this!!!!! At the end, furious and cheerful again opening melody light, optimistic and naïve, just enough to listen one more time!

I wondered where you got such an excellent replica of the Mormon Tabernacle organ... then I saw the background behind it and wondered how you got to record youtube videos in the Tabernacle. Now it all makes sense...

Thanks!!! I did use music. It's just not in the picture. I got this piece a couple of months ago. Someone asked me to record it. Any time you see me with my reading glasses on, I am using music.

@ohsteacher I wondered about the accoustics, if this were post remodel of the tabernacle or if you had just put the photo on your computer.

What a great performance! But it could be better...I like it with even more drama, more flair, more emotion. That's not to say, however, that I can play it nearly as well!
