I was building a home brew race today and trying to figure out how to add an ability score to a race (got that) and then add a choice ability score to a subrace while excluding the initial ability score. Vanara get +2 to Dex and the Simian subrace of Vanara get to choose +1 to any score but Dex.

Hey I am not sure if you have figured this out yet, but I am linking a syntax page on the FG forum. I am not sure if you specific case is available in the prebuilt syntax, but you can create a choice between set statistics with the syntax. hey how did you get that races tab on the right?

Go to the gear symbol at the top right (configuration) and there is a 'Sidebar' selection tab at the bottom of that window. As a neat thing, the order you select them will be the order they appear on the right. There are 'quick buttons' on that tab for GM, Player, and Create.
