I wish you the very best for all these reads, Grace! I’ll be curious to see how you like Malazan especially, and I imagine Ben will be cheering you on for it. I’m not going to reread Stormlight Archive in 2024, but I do hope to finally read Rhythm of War to prepare for book five.

Oh dang I still have Red Country to tackle but I hope to get to Age of Madness as well next year, wish I could join you but we gotta be realistic about these things 🤣YAY for the Stormlight reread, I am so ready for it. And for the love of all that is holy, let book 5 live up to our expectations 🤞And hope your Malazan journey will go off to a great start, happy reading!

Hahah well you may not make it for January but I have faith in you completing the series in 2024 that’s for sure ☺️ also makes me wonder, has there been a book in recent memory that will have as much expectations placed on it as Wind and Truth? (Aside from books like Winds of Winter and the Doors of Stone lol)

I'm going to be starting the Final Architecture trilogy by Adrian Tchaikovsky in January and finishing in March, then moving onto starting Shadows of the Apt in April. I'm hoping to read the Gormenghast trilogy by Melvyn Peake and the Soldier Son trilogy by Robin Hobb in 2024 as well.

Ohhh that’s exciting! I really need to finally read Tchaikovsky (aka Guns of the Dawn which I’ve owned forever at this point) and I’ll be looking forward to hearing how you like Soldier Son ☺️

Hurray for Malazan and Age of Madness... boo Stormlight 🤪 Hope you enjoy AoM and Malazan, personally I found the difficulty to be way overblown. It is challenging but hella rewarding. AoM is some of Abercrombie's best work and the female characters steal the books. Though AoM easily has one of my least favourite, boring to read POV characters in the entire series. I'll give you a hint, he's one of the male POVs. I'm joking about Stormlight (mostly). I'm torn between restarting Stormlight soon or waiting until the 5th book is out and seeing where the pendulum swings. Outside of Stormlight, Sanderson is more often than not a miss for me and that includes Mistborn 😅
@GraceDionneReads9 ай бұрын
Challenging but rewarding is like my sweet spot for fantasy, haha! After seeing how Abercrombie approached Monza I’m very much looking forward to how he explores more female POVs ☺️ with Stormlight, I completely understand that approach. I’m actually pretty nervous for how book 5 will play out given some of the plot points we’ve been promised! But I also know that without the reread so much stuff would pass me by, and I want that full experience
