Love it! The dirty aesthetic really works well. Would be a great gladiatorial weapon (looks cool, but isn't the most effective) but those jagged edges must catch on EVERYTHING - how much has it made you bleed so far? Oh, and I really enjoyed the Bobby Dukes style scream montage!

I do like what you ended up with in the end, not sure if it’s fully into that fantasy category as it is more historical than fantasy but have to say it’s one of the most functional ones I’ve seen yet. I do wonder why you didn’t line it with sheepskin fleece or something like that to protect the user
@PJTForging
@PJTForging 2 жыл бұрын
It's fantasy because, to my knowledge at least, there are no historical examples of this. Yes there are historical gaunlets, and yes there are historical tekko Kagi, but as far as I am aware, there was never a combined version in this style; otherwise an argument could be made that no knives can be fantasy, as there are plenty of historical examples of knives. I did consider lining it, but surprisingly, it wasn't necessary. It fit very well and comfortably to my arm, so I didn't feel the need.

u know if you put somethig in front of gauntlet between claws so that if they block a slow it will be stuck in between without injuring your hand like a SAI-dagger it is in fact quit realistic and efficent weapon and was also used exept it was jst smaller bc they didnt have resourced for making whole gauntlet like that

I think the plate between the hand and arm should have been leather so you can move your hand more

I did consider this/similar. However I actually kinda wanted to limit the movement a bit. With the leverage that would be felt by hitting things with the claws during a full swing, I wanted the wrist to be quite robust; it's also the reason I moved the hinge back a bit further, to just behind my actual wrist joint. There was some method to the madness. 😅

I just want to know what the neighbor, who probably looked out the window, thought when they seen you filming the backyard part. "Any minuet now, four turtles are going to show up, you just wait and see"
