I did welding for 15 years and retired at 35. Welding is not taught in schools anymore which is sad. So the people that can weld get paid more then most college grads.

I love how your shark logo looks like it's swimming through the feather pattern, like it's gone down the length of the blade and left the ripples of its passage etched in behind it.

To understand the way the pattern is shaping even during all of the forging process is truly amazing The pattern came out as planned and is beautiful the handle and guard worked flawless with the blade I like to watch forged in fire on the history channel but your channel shows so much more of the process

Damascus knives are works of art yes but I've actually never found one I've liked ever I've done all the research possible untill I came across your video. Also, is this method good for old rusty materials after soaking them in acid or something? Greetings from Vienna Austria. I saw it in an other video from you, its Kerosin! Because it burn with high temperatur?

@@tomedelkowski6567 that liquid is kerosene. Do NOT have acetone anywhere near your forge, it’s extremely flammable. Kerosene has a pretty high flashpoint and is used to help the forge weld. For beginners I would definitely recommend gas over coal. Watch my Beginner Series playlist on how to get started. 👍

Don’t get hung up on the hammer work. There are plenty of projects where stock removal is better. Most of my layered constructions (all the copper Damascus) are cut to shape. I forge to shape when it makes sense. Thanks for watching.
