While Belial looks like a very easy choice, Cygames seems to draw the line regarding Fantasy characters being limited to characters that are already playable. So it wouldnt really happen for Belial.

I mean, Freezie is literally right there. She's the prime example and precedent for "villain that would never be playable otherwise" character.

As odd as this might sound, Freezie looks more like a Lowain alt given that even from the perspective of the Fate Episode, its really Tomoi getting with Fresia, who he knicknames Freezie, but isnt really Fresia. All of this started from one of the usual conversations between Tomoi, Elsam, and Lowain.

Now you can say: _"Due to Sandalphon existing, maybe they can just conjure up a Belial that chose not to have undying loyalty to Lucilius."_ ..but I don't think Cygames is gonna do this. I mean they even have him playable in GBVSR which would look to be because they wouldnt make him playable. 😅 (And usually the "imagination stuff" is the Lowain bros's thing. But again, the quote I laid out there could be something that stems from them and yet it doesn't seem likely when I think about it.)

Personally i would love fantasy lucilius, or bubs, but in their astral days. There's a lot of stuff from the astrals that we dont know, and in my opinion astral lore is one of the most interesting in the game. I would love to see how their society works, more on how lucilius was seen as a sort of "weirdo" even by them, or other members of the high council. Heart of the sun gave us a little peek with the whole astaroth deal, and it was super interesting. I really dont understand why they havent done more with this in 10 years. So an astral fantasy unit would be awesome, i would take anyone at this point lol

Fantasy is interesting because fundamentally they never change or add to characters like some Fates do so as a result they’re some of my least favourite types of new characters added, but I will say that the concepts are interesting, I just feel like they’ve not done anything with Fantasy that’s super interesting outside of Fantasy Seofon and even then my opinion on him might change when I’m finally able to read …and you and his Fates. As for your choices though, I like your idea for a Cagliostro Fantasy unit, that’s what I’d love to see for a character like Anre or Eahta, if we got more than Seasonal Eternals (granted hopefully the Tales of Eternals will also go into their backstory so we wouldn’t need to waste space with an alt). I’d hold the gun on an immenent Alchemist event though, while it’s definitely been set up, that just means that Cygames will pick it back up when they feel like it, characters like Rosamia for example have basically been begging for a full event to end their character arc for years now. I just think Cerberus is more likely to just get an alt, her two other versions of herself are honestly pretty simple pallete swaps and with an alt, she’d also hopefully get to be pretty good what with powercreep and her the skeleton of her kit being pretty strong, giving her a Fire alt with consistent Triple Strike sounds pretty good. People hate Stan? I love that guy, I’m rooting for him, Boots and Blades really made him work for that event SR status and after his Duo SSR, all that’s left is hopefully a strong single alt, if Juri can do it then I have hope for Stan. I sort of think that him being a potential Dragonian will come up at some point, unfortunately his storyline has sort of set up Attiyah and Tabina to have their own plot first but maybe that means that Stan could get a big role in some sort of Dragon related event with the likes of Naoise and maybe even Grea and Filene? Alternatively in the 5th Stan and Aliza focused event he might finally earn that solo SSR. If I did have to give someone a Fantasy alt then probably Anre, just cause he’s my favourite Eternal who’s one of the group whose past is pretty unexplored. I’d love to see an event of him growing up and eventually founding the Eternals with Seofon. I’d hope for him to probably be Dark to coincide with Rei and basically just port his base kit with maybe a few changes like changing his Phalanx skill to a multi hit nuke based on stacks that he has to build up by taking hits.

Stan hate? Now that`s something I didn't expect, I remember he was one of my favorite characters when I just started Granblue, Y'all just don't see the vision.

the Stan hate comes from the fact that his character is simply a nothingburger. He isn't a character in itself, but more of just a plot device. As it is right now, you literally can't have Stan outside the context of Aliza, while Aliza is completely fine by herself. Nothing he did feels earned, he's simply riding along the Aliza boat. And that is both extremely lame and also lazy writing. That's why I want to make him an actual standalone character.

@@DuckyTalksGranblue I asked some colleagues on a discord and the answer was pretty similar, and I understand the point of view, though I can't figure why would he be a plot device. What exactly is he enabling? And for who? Aliza? As you said, Aliza is fine as she is, so I don`t even understand, assuming he is a plot device, what that device would function for. All of his story was centered around his own character development after all. So I would also love to see a story that actually realizes his development. I think the cheesy romance premise is cute, and I had my fair share of tears watching him struggle on his path. Wishing Stan the best, honestly

I think I recall the devs saying they didn't wanna use the tag too often? Tho I didn't realize they snuck in more fantasy characters than I recalled. That Polaris mention hurt a lot... We had to get the more boring Shura instead.. Side note, I reeally wish we had gotten more style swap characters already, aside from... just the one in Yngwie.

Fantasy is for the non-canon stuff, I'd not mind an evil/powered up Lyria where she is Bahamut infused, or some remakes of some R characters like Nene. We get Lyria skins, but we never use her, they won't SSR her due to story so a fantays one could work. I skip most of the event stories tough because they follow the same annoying pattern, rather read a book or manga.
