Awesome set guys!!! Making them for my store for our terrain!! Key thing I found for the barrels was to cut off 2 notches and then glue the ends on! So much easier!

Well.. obviously this is the internet era and therefore there will be massive criticism even for minor flaws. Our community is also of such stature that many of us would consider it worthwile to spend hours on perfecting the 'BEST BARREL EVER IN A FANTASY DIORAMA'.. hopeless customers You guys at Battle systems have chosen ;) Keep up the good work!👍

Hey gang; these kits are FANTASTIC! However - as has been said here - the BARRELS; can you reconsider their build? Your technique shown simply doesn't work; the bases are too large to fit, and the ends of the barrels are near impossible to attach. I wonder if there's a different technique you can consider in future?

We agree that the bases are too big, they were perfect in our prototypes but even a fraction of a mm makes all the difference in final production. Later prints will have slightly smaller bases. In the meantime we suggest shaving a small piece off each base with a very sharp craft knife.

Hi ! I bought o e of your sets and looks amazing. What type of glue do you recommend for better resulta ? And what king of pencils do you recommend for penning the borders?

Brush on Superglue or similar works best and any felt tip pens that match the colours. I recommend using a scrap of the cardboard sprue to test colours to see how they compare when the ink has dried.

After letting the initial dab of glue and barrel lids dry for 10 minutes, could not get the barrels to completely wrap around leaving no gap. And when applying pressure to try to close the gap, the lids/bottom pieces break free. Left with a collapsed mess

The barrels can be a little fiddly. Have you tried supergluing one end before fitting the other?

All this terrain is amazing... except for the barrels. Just toss them away. They are way too fiddly and are not wide enough to wrap around the circular parts. Everything else though is 100% fantastic! Wait for the Barrels 2.0 expansion :D

@@madquest8 make the barrels first, no lids. Glue the lids on ends of barrels, like caps on ends. If centered well they can stand and lie as you wish.

@@joseacevedo8314- I tried exactly that on the first one I ever made because the lids simply don’t fit the way it’s suggested in this video. Having the lid glued on top AFTER looks pretty bad. It’s functional the way you mention, but it just looks bad. The only way to get the barrels to work is by trimming the lids. It’s a LOT more effort than desired for something that should be ready to go.

Bought the Fantasy Battlefield set today (my very first ready terrain ever) and if I could rate it I d say that it s a 4 to 4.5 out of 5. Everything is looking great but I found that some parts don t seem connect conveniently good (the floor of the Guard Hut for example) and as many here said the barrels and the chests are a nightmare to put together. I think the chests are actually the worst of the two. Way too shaky and the bottom of the chest just doesn t connect to any of the sides.

We're always trying to improve, for example next time the lids of the barrels will be slightly smaller.

Honestly the barrels and the crates are awful in design. They are a real pain to put together and do not fit right. It's the only thing i really dislike about this set. Please consider redoing these for future sets.

Yeah, i'm trying to build them right now and lid/bottom is way to big. It creates a big slid on the side of the barrel which looks really weird and ugly.

Destroyed my first barrel today out of frustration LOL Impossible to construct properly. But hey, 90% of the stuff fits together reasonably well, and I bought the village for the buildings not the extras... so I'm going to give them a pass on some scatter terrain being a wash.

@@Fulgrim_The_Phoenician I do? it's not a couple. You get a ton of them in the set and they are part of the cost of the set. I love the buildings, but the crates and barrels are AWFUL.

Everything works great, except the barrels. It’s not that the barrels are difficult to assemble, it’s that the lids are literally too large for the rest of the barrel to wrap around without having a big gap. And yes, I’ve applied a LOT of pressure to try and make it work….the barrel components need resized, as they simply don’t fit as is. I’ve had to use a hobby knife to cut the lids to make them fit…which is a lot of extra work for a “ready to go” product. As mentioned, everything else is great. Redesign your barrels though.

No, you're right, we realised that after production the lids are a fraction of a mm too wide, which we've corrected for later prints. Trimming them is the only way to make them fit.

@@Battlesystems in all fairness though i should state I've bought the monestry ruins, outhouse and mausoleum for Frostgrave and I'm super happy with my purchases. As a quick short term low effort scenery solution they are great. I managed to get a full table of scenery up and running in one afternoon, that's hard to beat! ☺️👍

What the hell guys ... you make a video about assembly and accelerate the actual assembly so that we can't even see what you're doing??? Should be the opposite: build in slow motion and add any commentary later so we can see while you talk ...
