FO-zee-ah is how she pronounces her name. Born in Morocco, family moved to Canada when she was 1 year old. 20 years old now, 19 when this video was recorded, probably 18 when she wrote the song -- pretty impressive for a teenager, no? I would recommend "HOW IT ALL WORKS OUT (STRIPPED)" next for another piano ballad with great vocal dynamics. "Minefields" with John Legend is of course a great choice. Faouzia has also done some great covers, my favorites being her tender cover of John Mayer's "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room" and her cover of J Cole's "Middle Child" which she transformed from a rap song into an impressive vocal w/ piano song.

She's Moroccan Canadian. Her family comes from Morocco and moved she and her family moved when she was around 1. Her Moroccan heritage lets her easily get a fast virbrato which lets her control her voice really well. All of her songs are hand written by herself. She's also only *_20_* and is even in college right now with an engineer major! She has had no vocal training too. Everything is self taught in vocals. She plays the piano, violin, guitar, and a moroccan drum called a djembe and if you look her up it says she plays even MORE instruments but it's not specified. She speaks three languages: Arabic, French, and English. She is the next huge hit and all of her fans are ready for it
