I’m in a 14 by 17 room and the kali IN 5 are absolutely banging and mixes translate well! ✊ They are on their side too, nice and wide sweet spot!

how much treatment, and at what dB are you listening / mixing at?

Never heard it explained so nicely. I hope you guys continue to make these awesome videos - they're very instructive.

@@MattDxstined They're very different speakers. I don't have a ton of experience with EVEs but a lot of people I trust like them quite a bit. Ribbon tweeters can be polarizing; some people swear by them, some people find them fatiguing. I would ask around in some forums for someone with a lot of experience with both for a good comparison.

Those IN-8 look stunning and I’m sure sound just as stunning as they look! I’m just getting into your monitors as both myself and my wife have the LP-UNF and we truly love them. Would love to hear the IN-8.

Thank you for confronting this myth! Get the most extended bass you can afford and fit and use DSP to fix the problem and enjoy the extension rather than just "turning off" the low frequencies by getting a small speaker.

I just grabbed the LP8 V2's and just waiting for them to be delivered, they are probably overkill but they were the same price as the LP6 V2's I couldn't resist because I am weak. Hope I don't regret it, lol. 🎸🔊🔊🔊

Rebelling and sneaking out (at night?) of the "Death Star" ------- legendary behemoth JBL ------- and deftly Euro-stepping the Superlaser. Then becoming Jedi-fied (?) and returning to fight the behemoth! POPCORN TIME! Saving up for a pair of IN-5 or LP6v2.

Is there any objective consensus/ model toward what is defined as as small room and what is a larger room in context to acoustic theory stuff?
@kaliaudio Жыл бұрын
HA! No. Pure room size is also not the only factor. Some large rooms have a lot of stuff in them that makes them behave more like a small room, and some small rooms are brilliantly treated so they behave like a larger room. A ROUGH way of looking at it: Very small: less than 100 Sq ft. Bedroom studio Small ~100-250 sq feet. Lots of mixing rooms look like this.

If I set the speaker on its side, how would placing a computer screen on top of it affect the sound?
@kaliaudio2 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say. Listen as you set it down and see if it's a big change!

So do you mean that no matter the size of the room, if there is good acoustic treatment, it will not be an issue to have a 8 inch monitor in a small /medium room?
@kaliaudio2 жыл бұрын
With the exception of listening distance from the LP-8, yes.
@roilosh Жыл бұрын
@@kaliaudio what about the IN 8 in medium sized room with 1 meter listening distance? is it okay?
@kaliaudio Жыл бұрын
@@roilosh It's overkill in that situation. I'd save some $$ and get the IN-5 instead.
@roilosh Жыл бұрын
@@kaliaudio can you kindly explain what are the differences between them? I don’t wanna miss out on better sound quality of an 8 inch monitor..
@kaliaudio Жыл бұрын
@@roilosh you're really not. The -8 plays a tad lower and louder, but the real difference is in total harmonic distortion. At 1 meter, the -5 would need to be painfully loud before the higher distortion numbers would be apparent.
