No idea how an 8 hour Far Cry ranking ended up in my recommended videos but I’m here for it. I randomly picked up Far Cry 2 back in the day as a rental so I didn’t get to finish it. I enjoyed it but never picked up 3, 4 or 5. I needed something single player earlier this year and got 5 and throughly enjoyed it. I got 2/3rds through and got distracted with something else but I do want to finish it and might start over. That one clicked for me and I do want to play 3 at some point

Almost 8 Hours of Far Cry fun. Bring it on! I genuinely enjoyed New Dawn. The writing on some characters and the villains was really _really_ bad. But looking past that with the actual gameplay loop and all the things added onto it make a really neat game! Kinda actually liked getting the outposts re-taken cause I enjoyed the stealth and takedowns. Strange I know. Expeditions were really cool and gave off an "Play your own action movie" vibe. You're totally right about the modern design of the game. I may or may not have played a special version that was offline and took out the microtransactions though so that could have swayed me more. Final "boss" sucks though lol

i am gonna die on the hill that Far Cry 1 is severely underrated (atleast in the western world) on a gunplay and level design basis. and Far Cry 2 is overrated these days because of its unique setting and "hardcore" gameplay (as if Far Cry 1 didnt do that better already and that without needing tube levels like 2) if anyone knows a shooter that does big, impressive and relatively open Levels better than Far Cry 1 please tell me. i dont think ive yet played a first person shooter that does it better - not even Crysis 1. and Far Cry 2 certainly failed in that regard.
