The truly annoying part about this is that if you'd just walked in without putting your weapons away, two shotgun blasts would have ended everything perfectly fine. And even if Rush didn't survive, the outcome would still have been much better for everyone. Expecting psychopaths to play fair is fucking stupid, and whoever wrote this scene with the player willingly giving up their weapons deserves to be fired.

Glen Malley About every single encounter of far cry 5 is also like this. Honestly the thing that I find more annoying about these types of scenes is how they write them. It feels forced every time and it makes it feel like they don’t think creatively about how you can interact with your situation or how you respond to a situation. You chose to lock your hands so you can’t hit them. Alright you submitted and are now getting the crap beaten out of you until you hulk out. Ok. What happens if you refuse to submit? They force the lock on you...and it plays out exactly the same and this is what I have an issue with. Your showing that your not gonna take their bull crap and are refusing them. Show it then in the cutscenes. Yeah they forcefully locked your hands, but your feet are still free. If you refused to do what they say then show it in the cutscene that my character is fighting back, so he gets more development. They could have him kick them or Head-but them but they don’t. And I personally feel like that is what makes these choices pointless. Especially when they do the whole “walk up close to your face thing”. If you submit and lock yourself then, play it to were you get beat up and hulk out. If you refuse to follow their demands then show by having my character kick them while they try to beat me up. Heck just make it a simple change where you kicked one them as they were about to hit you with the helmet and then broke out of the chains. Yeah it is a small change but it adds more personality at least. There are other scenes like this in the other far cry games, it’s just that new dawn and 5 really make them stand out. Your in a cage and Joseph is right in front of you. The handle bars are spaced enough for you to reach out and grab something that is far away. You could easily punch through the bar space and hit someone. Like Joseph who is standing with his face right up to the bars.

Like realistically (and lore wise) if you had been living as a security captain for almost twenty years you should have more common sense than that. Rule one should be 'Don't leave yourself vulnerable, like ditching your damn weapons and tying yourself up for your enemies'.
