The sprite work is outstanding. Really amazing job done by the artists. Specially noticeable for a 1995 game.

Man everything during the 90s even nowadays was all about anime, sure you had realistic sprites but most JRPGS have anime themed characters thats what i love about japanese games, nobody beats anime!!!!

This game is great. Despite that not many people played it on the arcades near my house back in the day. I like the bell sound of Yagumo.

Oh, man, this takes back to early days of Neo Geo emulation. I played more than a few rounds of this back in college, still got the Manto Ace theme popping up in my head from time to time. This game's got really good animation for it's time, and it was hilarious finding out this is a spin-off of an RPG series. Good stuff, and thanks for the vid!

If I had discovered this game back in 2007 or 2008, then I would have loved it, and I would have enjoyed watching gameplay of it on YT, because back then, I was crazy about fighting games. plus, the late 2000's was a hell of a time for reliving the 80's and 90's.

I remember GameFan Magazine did a massive article about this game, back in the day. I have no idea why they wasted so much ink in Japan-exclusive arcade games what would NEVER see the American shores, but I still pored over every word. This was especially relevant because I barely knew what anime was, only that games like this set my imagination on fire
@MisterRON2 жыл бұрын
I remember GameFan for that specifically. They made huge articles on games that would never see the light of day here in the USA, but it fueled my interest in import gaming as a kid. Back in the 90s, being up on that made you hot shit.

Don't know if that can happen or not, since Hudson Soft is already defunct since 2012. Kabuki Clash, and Bloody Roar series, are now long forgotten because of that (and since all of Hudson Soft IP now belongs to Konami, I'm not sure they will try to revive those games or not, since it's Konami we're talking about).

I always considered Last Blade as some sort of spiritual sequel of Kabuki Klash, their styles are very similar Watching this game in the arcades was jaw-dropping back in the day.

The reason that this needs to be a successor, to display everything, that they couldn't, this game, also needs to be a part of some sort of collection, if they don't have one already..

Not gonna lie, I spam the dragon as Yagumo then the fan spin to kill lucifeller. Yagumo is the best character to fight him but I always try fighting lucifeller with majinmaro because majinmaru attacks looks cool.

Hudson Soft milking Momotaro Dentetsu in Japan (which is now best selling non Nintendo IP in Japan) and Red Company is dead since 15 years, so yeah this franchise even if is still very popular in Japan is dead for good. Konami aqcuired Hudson Soft and they hhave rights for this franchise, but knowing Konami, they do nothing.
