I get people are upset that it’s getting harder to live but I don’t get how voting for far right parties is gonna fix anything. When did supporting extremist policies ever yield good results? People need to put emotion aside and start thinking with their brains
@shanghaichicaАй бұрын
Because times are hard and political parties will take advantage and blame all the problems and hardships on immigrants. They present a scapegoat for them and they promise to solve it.

It's funny DW has regurgitated the term "Far Right" so many times in this "reporting" but any clips they've showed have been rather tame!🤔🤔🤔 Someone's got an agenda here!
@mas7833Ай бұрын
I think it would be far more accurate to describe these political parties as anti immigration parties. Then describe their both social and economic policies ideas. Just automatically saying ‘far right’ is disingenuous. I do recognize that many in these parties are hiding their egregious bigotry behind being anti immigration.
@seanbrennan9188Ай бұрын
Too much hyperbolic rhetoric around this issue. Reasonable people know the difference between regulating immigration and going to the extreme xenophobic knee jerk reaction.

Why can left wing parties just be left wing, but right wing alwas is far, populistic, radical or extreme?

Information bubble much? There are leftist, populist and anti-migration parties in europe, like BSW
@shanghaichicaАй бұрын
There are right wing parties. It’s those parties with extreme views that will be labelled far right or even far left. I don’t know why people get so upset about labels these days. In the past people would deny that they hold the views/values that are defined as far right/racist/xenophobic etc. Now people openly admit to holding these views but cry about labels.

When you say 'immigration is causing problems,' it’s important to clarify the type or basis of immigration you’re referring to. I see nothing wrong with students or people who come to work. I've never heard of a PhD killing someone with a knife or software developers stealing from shops.

Well, in terms of different cultures who live in the country, then yes. But in terms of crime rate it would be much better. Personally, I see no problem living with people from different countries, if they follow the law and the general way of live which locals got used to. And, in case they work or study, of course.
@kirillmaximov2189Ай бұрын
Living among different cultures is not a problem. People who do not follow the law is the problem.

I think integration is an important part of all countries. It makes sense that a 50 year old can not become Austrian, but if you are born here, even with immigrant parent, there are certain values you have to accept. You do not need to like it, but respect it and advocate change democratically.

You cannot call them "far right" or even "right" when you compare them with the US they would be left wing, when compare them to the rest of Europe they are more center.

FPÖ is definitely far right, very much in line with Trump´s ideas, they too want "concentration camps" and mass deportation. That´s far right from centre.
@MendyMarcusАй бұрын
@@soundscape26 because the term "far right" means nothing, it is used for everyone these days. It used to be that right was anti gay, anti, abortion and now if you just disagree with the "mainstream" you are "far right", even though most of them are more left than what we used to consider extreme.
