For such a performance, Biden would need an assistant, a person with normal sense is not capable of stupidity like Trump. After all, Trump was supposed to have millions upon millions of millions of money, he was supposed to be a BILLIONAIRE! Now he suddenly can't pay amounts that are small change to a BILLIONAIRE! Trump himself claimed in court that he can pay 400 million. On the other hand, he claimed he would build the wall and Mexico would pay for it. Maybe he will build the wall when he pays the 400 million. Or implement a tax cut for the middle class. Or, well, keep his promises in general. He will probably keep one promise, he plans to be a dictator if he gets into power. Well, he'll probably have his own kingdom pretty soon, in prison, his own jail, he'll be its dictator.

As someone who is very much on the fence about Trump, predominately because of doubts over his NATO commitment, that was quite a reassuring interview that he appears generally committed to NATO as long as there's an equal commitment of other states to meet the defence budget targets, which he's justified in pointing out. That said whilst I can see his reasoning, ultimately to split NATO at this time would be unwise. A better position I believe would be to pressure countries failing to meet the target to reach that contribution level. Regardless of this, it would be ideal for Europe to boost it's forces anyway to be able to contain Russia on it's own, this would free up the United States to focus on containing China without having to worry about containing things on two fronts.

I think he was always trying to illustrate that it had become totally useless as an organisation, basically to try and get a rise out of them, to effectively wake them up about what's happening with Europe etc. But this will also have negative effects in that NATO states don't really want security delivered by other NATO countries (e.g. the idea of being kept safe by certain NATO countries is actually worse than just not doing anything at all!). You'll know what I mean when you see them...
