The interviewer lost me when he said calling Obama a loathsome creature was 'borderline racist'.

Indeed, it was sooooo nonsensical... no wonder these people are losing. They don't have something called common sense. Such a clueless interviewer...can imagine what kind of organization this DW is.

The thing is I'm not a Farage supporter. I think he is certainly one the best orators in politics in the last 15 years or so. Some of his ideas I disagree with, whilst some I think he has a point. When the interviewer suggested that comment was borderline racist, it just made me think the interviewer had his own agenda. It was a shame as I enjoy watching political leaders being questioned whatever their political views maybe. If the interviewer said the comment was rude, then fine. But racist? Come on. I can just imagine black people who have suffered real racism rolling their eyes at the suggestion that was in anyway racist.

Yeah strange that, he holds such strong views about Obama but not a word of criticism of the clown that is now the President of the USA. I see that despite the promise to put the UK at the head of the queue for a trade deal, after speaking to Merkel Trump now thinks its best to do a deal with a market containing 27 countries rather than just the one so it appears we have been bumped backwards. Looks as if his prediction that the EU was going to fall apart when the UK left isn't going to materialize and France is about to reject Le Pen so its not going to well for the anti EU crowd at the moment.
@martinunitt

I don't know if you are serious or you are joking. If the interviewer believed that was the case then he should have explained it better. I've heard people be called a 'loathsome creature' before but it's never had racist undertones. I wouldn't be surprised if Farage thought Tony Blair and Jean Claude Juncker were loathsome creatures.

The same insult can have different perceived effects when addressed towards individuals of different races. I don't care for the insult 1 way or another I was just explaining what the insult was about.

As a Nigel Farage fan I actually like this interview. Tim's hardball interview style punishes politicians who play safe and avoid giving straight answers. With that being said, Tim calling Nigel's comment on Obama racist was unfair and half-witted.

sch7458 the interviewer called farage racist for criticising Obama. This is not journalism. It's a liberal trying to make farage out as something he's not.

There are enough issues around him about racism. For instance: www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/06/nigel-farage-accused-of-age-old-racist-claim-in-linking-migrants-to-sexual-assault But apart from that, I don't care whether Farage is racist or not. I don't know what is your criteria regarding journalism. He can be racist or not racist, anything he wants to be - as long as he stays out of EU business after March 2019, it's good enough for me.
