"Music is a mysterious thing... Sometimes, it makes people remember things that they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember them or not..."

Xenogears always has been and always will be a fairy tale for us. Especially those who are older now. A gripping story that dives into the recesses of our minds and reminds us of the frailty of life, the value of our friendships, and the significance of our families. Most importantly, it is a reminder of how much love has an effect on us all. How hope and fear, trust and betrayal, life and death.....they are all apart of ourselves. And no matter how old we get, even when we can no longer play this game and revisit the grand story that Xenogears is, we can always listen to this song alone......and all of the memories will always come flooding back.

Listening to this puts an impulse in my fingertips to reach out and yank down the pall of the present and retreat into the past; to go back and retrace all my steps and traipse through Was and Used To Be. Things seemed far simpler and more hopeful back then, didn't they? Back then, it seemed "tomorrow" promised possibility. What I wouldn't give to go back, or at the very least, to wake up and feel the day to come harbors joy instead of dread.

You beautifully put into words what I think many of us feel when we look back at this game and the faraway time we enjoyed it. Thank you.

I remember this man.. This brought tears to my eyes. I played Xenogears 18 years ago and that game was a way for me to escape from life. This song brings back memories from that time .

It’s kinda sad and nice that most of us used video games to escape shit life reality. This is one of the reason that I don’t yell at my son about playing video games.

The first measure starts with a dyad. The second measure ends with two dyads. And the third starts with a chord followed by a dyad then single. Forth is two chords and the fifth starts with a single chord followed by a single note. (in this recording it starts with a single note followed by a chord) Curiously though, the official score for the game by Mitsuda has two chords followed by a single note in the forth measure. In the game though, the music is chord note chord. The last two notes of the second paragraph are shown as dyads but sound like single notes in the game... So I guess it's hard to know for sure. XD like this: | dnn | nndd | cdn | | (cnc) | cnn | ccn | cd | d | The Xenogears arranged album is yet different from both of these. I'm not quite sure why though... >__
