Makes me cry for my childhood. When things were simple and beautiful. Alone in my room playing Xenogears...is it sad that I consider that the greatest time of my life?

Hi! You’re not alone. Almost 25 years later, much of my movie, book, and music preferences were guided by stuff that came out around 1997. OK Computer, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Xenogears. 🥲

Love this game and love this music. I listen to it when I want to remember who I was.

This scene... it's powerful even before you know the meaning behind it... but after you find out the meaning behind this music box and what it means to Fei and Emeralda... it's hard to not tear up

Before ADSL or youtube I used to play up to this scene from the nearest save file and just left this scene idle to listen to music while I did stuff(mostly drawing).

One of my favourite scenes in the Xeno series. It's kinda confusing but strangely heart warming when you first see it. But after finishing the game and putting everything together it's an absolute master piece. The music is beautiful too and I love how they use the same track when moments that this scene is foreshadowing actually happens.

I feel like for all the truly great games I have ever played, there is a singular moment early on in each that gives me the unmistakable feeling that the game I'm about to play is going to be incredible. For Xenogears, it was this exact scene. Despite not playing it until 2015, I knew this was going to be a masterpiece once I got here.

I'm playing it for the first time in 2022.. soon to be 2023 and I had the exact feeling when I got to this part I stopped and made a cup of tea and just listened to the song I'm currently trying to get out of the cave under the desert with Bart made to old man bal :D

This entire scene resonates with me so much. I played through this game right before a massive turning point in my childhood that took me to dark place for a long time. Every time I hear Faraway Promise I'm suddenly back in my room playing this game and I can't help but cry for the way things used to be. Very few songs make me feel the way this one does.

I bought this game on eBay recently. played this game for the first time since the 90s yesterday and I'm now 34 years old. This didn't cause tears to fall but I won't say they didn't become pretty watery either. What a treat of nostalgia this is giving me. It brought up so many good times of my past in general. Man i wish I could go back to the good ol days living a worry free life.

That may just be because you have someone living inside of you.... and he too must have liked this music a long time ago before he became a part of you... Such a great moment of foreshadowing. This game has tons of it though, really a master piece this game was. Too bad the ending was rushed.

Im playing through this again after digging out my ps3. Its funny that as a kid when i played it back on ps1 it didnt have the affect on me that it does now. And hearing this as an adult and all those years have gone by it breaks me. And i dont understand why.

The only way for it to be done right is if Monolith gets the license from Square. Now Takahashi can make it the way he always wanted.

I just realized this is the end credit music no wonder it's so familiar and beautiful. I miss 1997-2001 my favorite time in gaming. After that was when I started realizing that gaming started being less about passion and more about profit...smh. You still have some developers that do it for the love but for the most part the industry is a money grab now with all the dlc and pay to win crap.
