The 401k was meant to be a supplemental plan. The decided to drastically reduce the employer contribution. They then went for health care insurance by making deals with the health insurance industry by raising the rates each year and the employer makes some money on the side while taking the money directly from your check each week. Cutting programs is not the only way government spending can be reduced. Instead of only looking at the “what” side of the equation, government can save money (in some cases pretty big money) by transforming “how” programs are delivered and the associated administration costs. Granted, this is harder to do but the result is the identification of “white space” that can be redeployed elsewhere in government (or eliminated completely) and permanent annual run rate savings. It’s too simplistic to say that we MUST look only what programs need to be cut - look at the “how” for sustainable savings that it future generations can benefit from.

Cutting back on extraneous regulations isn’t bad. It’s who’ll decide which regs to cut that’s bad! Without an experienced person in charge, how will they know needed or not needed? Regs come with multi “fat or loopholes” added to appease one side or the other to get the reg approved. Ex., An advanced anti-derailment system was required on trains designated hazardous chemicals. The special brake system is not required on trains with hazardous chemicals If the train has non-hazardous cars between groupings of the hazardous cars. This enables owners to bypass needing a costly derailment brake system. The loophole of separating the hazardous chemical cars with non-hazardous filled cars to get a pass on the brakes, shouldn’t be why the train doesn’t have to follow the regulation. If a derailment happens, any one of the hazardous chemicals can get into the air and ground water. The derailed train in Ohio, had hazardous chemicals in train cars, separated by nonhazardous cars so it was NOT designated a hazardous chemical train, and did not have the advanced derailment brakes on it. When the train derailed it destroyed parts of the town of East Palestine, Ohio. Sometimes, people in high places do not know what they do not know. - anon This also applies to women’s medical situations governed by men (& some ignorant women).

Did anyone here know that the Bush and Trump tax cuts, each, cost as much as the Iraq war? All three are just under $2 trillion; not so good with the math, but not only would we have $6 trillion less debt, but we would likely have a small budget surplus right now if we kept the agreed upon budget balancing measures that were in place at the start of this millennium. I just found out, and now I'm P*d off at the past quarter century of Congress for not only letting this happen but, explicitly making this happen!

Part of the concern is the federal government is lying about a lot of stuff, one of which is Social Security Social Security in part if not, the majority of it comes out of totally separate tax called Social Security tax that every working American pays on top of federal tax and state tax, but the federal government just wants to lump that Social Security money into the federal budget. No, it’s a tax for a totally different thing. You don’t get to spend so Security budget on anything other than Social Security that’s the ruleand yet they do so if you think about it $800 billion that’s almost 1,000,000,000,000. How was that only 13% of the budget so the annual budget is $9 trillion ridiculous.

I am an Atheist ⚛️ I do not believe in the existence of God. There is no evidence to support the belief in any gods or supernatural entities. I rely on science, reason, logic, and empirical evidence to form my worldview and have not found compelling evidence or arguments to support the existence of God. The universe is governed by natural laws and forces, rather than moral, spiritual, or supernatural ones. As an atheist, I reject religious dogma, supernaturalism, and superstition as the basis of morality and decision-making. I emphasize the social and empirical nature of inquiry and prioritize scientific solutions to intellectual problems. There is an intrinsic intellectual conflict between faith and science, and that it inevitably leads to hostility. I am engaged in a continually evolving search for truth, primarily through science and philosophy..

The rich are already being taxed more heavily than everyone else by a long shot. We NEED the rich business owners in order to have jobs. You reduce taxes on them so that they're less likely to outsource their workforce overseas. This is not a difficult concept.

Poor analysis leads to poor conclusions.
