Farewell 3642! New South Wales Steam Trains ft. 3526

On Sunday the 1st of July, Transport Heritage NSW ran the 'Farewell 3642' tour from Picton to Moss Vale on the New South Wales Main South. The trip consisted of steam locomotive 3526 leading 3642 to Moss Vale before the 36 lead the return journey.
Locomotive 3642 entered traffic in January 1926 and was withdrawn from active service in November 1969 before being retained for the NSW Rail Museum.
Following the recent return to heritage service of locomotive 3526, locomotive 3642 is now being retired from regular main line operations. It is currently being considered for major overhaul, subject to funding and future fleet requirements. In the meantime, 3642 will be maintained in a serviceable condition so the engine can be utilised for occasional events.

What are the problems with 3642 ? I've seen a lot of posts saying it "needs repair" or "further restoration", but nothing about what is actually wrong with it. Is it boiler condition, mechanical problems or what ? TIA to anyone who can supply this info.

3642 is in the museum but not retired it’s just cause of fires and no where to store it for now

Yes if you read the description it states that 3642 will only be retired from main line services but will still be used for events
