Loved his sign off “I hope you had a good day.” It felt very genuine that you don’t find in the media these days.

Lester Holt's sign off of "Take care of yourselves" is on that level.

WOW, he had such a passion for his job, and at the same having fun with it. All the best to him on his retirement.

I was never a Carter fan, I hated Carter, but I loved the way Charlie made that kid's dream come true when he introduced him to the President.

I've always thought Charlie had a good sense of humor specially cracking jokes with Diane Sawyer.

Isn't it the guy who reviewed 9/11

Yes he was in the news desk reporting on 9/11 as it happened. Along with Diane Sawyer who was there with him as well.

Gibson was frequently mean-spirited and I'm glad to see him go. I felt sorry for him years ago when he started having trouble getting anything right on air. It seemed apparent that he was having some sort of medical problem which was affecting his ability to function mentally. My initial thought was alzheimer's. He seemed to get better but also meaner. A big smile and some laughter does not make up for being an ass. He will not be missed.
