Roy will always have a special place in my heart because he killed the beast that scared me half to death as a little girl (Jaws) and played one of my favorite characters in literature of all time ("Doc/Scylla" in Marathon Man). Excellent video, truly wonderful and well-edited. I miss him....

Thank you. From what I hear, he was not just a good actor but a warm and wonderful human being. It is hard to find a bad Roy Scheider story in the industry and you know how the industry likes to gossip -especially about bad behavior and bad attitudes. Roy seemed to have neither.

I have ti agree with you about the time machine part even though I wasn't alive then since I was born in 92. After seeing all this great media from the the 70s - 80s I'd love to experience what it was like at the time. To be honest I don't find films the same anymore as the good old classics like these. My friends don't understand though. I was brought up with the classics and it's the actors in them that inspired me. I miss that.

A truly great actor, saw him in a few films but like us all we remember Roy from Jaws. Nobody could have played Chief Brody like Roy, he was (us) the audience knew nothing about boats or sharks. R.I.P Roy ...

Chris, you're mistaken about Roy not being a good actor. He was an amazing actor. Jaws wasn't the only film he did. You should check out All That Jazz and that's just one example of how dynamic he was as an actor.
