In 1988 I flew aboard a PanAm 747 from JFK to Frankfurt. It was July 2nd. The plane was jam packed with families flying to another country for celebrations. There were arguments breaking out about seating arrangements and the plane needed to emptied and re-boarded! We finally took off at twilight and I recall seeing all kinds of neighborhood fireworks going on as we took off and then headed out over the Atlantic. It was my first transatlantic flight and the first and last time I flew aboard PanAm and the queen of the sky.

Special memories for me on 3 fronts. My late dad was one of the first few that switched from the 707 to the 747 classic Super B... At that time with Qantas. The second one was the 747 -300 with SQ that flew me to my college education in the USA! And finally my dad used to allow me to sit at the jump seat of the 747 and what an awesome feeling to be right up front!👏❤️

The first Boeing 747 plane I flew on, was on a Tower Air flight from LAX to JFK, with my little sister. Just the two us we were 18 and 16, to join my dad who was on a business trip to the big Apple and took a few days off to show us around. First time in NYC too. The first of many trips to the city, but also flying on the Queen of the Skies. The last one was on January 2022, on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to LAX to visit my family, now that I live in Europe. The newer version just make more justice to the prestige of the airplane ❤ Good times. Awesome video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I had a great joy flying on the Boeing 747. My only experience was with KLM 747’s and flew my first flight back in 1994 with the -200SUD, then the -300 and then the -400’s between CUR & AMS. In SXM i stood many times behind 747’s at Maho Beach and one time PH-BUO came in so low that her mains touched the barb wire above the fence. Most of my transatlantic flights were on a 747 and my last flight was in 2019. I really hope to get a chance to fly on Lufthansa 747’s as the are the last airline in Europe operating the pax type. Boy this was a great question. I was a UAL Brat and was so spoiled flying jnbb by this lovely lady during the golden age of travel. This lady always seem to have the best, most experienced crews, and finest amenities. It was so. Ice to travel in first class and enjoy the upper cabin with lounge tables and chairs. Being able to stretch out on the couch and go to sleep. All before it was turned into a business class. It will be a sad day to see this lady stop service. Glad she’ll be used even in the cargo capacity but that is nothing to what she did during the true golden age of air travel.

Are you looking to do more in-depth, longer videos? Perhaps do one on aviation lowering greenhouse gases? I assume electric planes can't carry 300+ passengers across the Atlantic at 800 km/h in the near future. Hydrogen turbofan planes would still produce NOX. Hydrogen fuel cells might be the best solution. There also might be a large niche that would be willing to take hydrogen filled dirigible flights on 2-3 say flight across the Atlantic. Helium is getting rare so it might not be available
