Perth to Amsterdam please. Amsterdam is a more exciting cultural destination than Frankfurt. Although Amsterdam does not host the European Central Bank, it is a financial centre in its own right with back of house financial clearing houses and derivatives trading. It also hosts the European Medicines Agency, the equivalent to US FDA and Australia's TGA, with a big biomedical pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. companies operating.

So the question is to avoid or fix these rising concerns, should airlines go towards more wide body twin isle aircraft or more narrow body single aisle aircraft?

I would have like too seen Virgin have B787-10 or A350 900. But they have the alternative aircrafts in same area. A350 900 would have suited them perfectly

Maybe another airline can take up the Boeing 787 9’s that Virgin Atlantic retires. Latam, American Airlines, British Airways to name a few airlines that would take the Rolls Royce powered Boeing 787.

Could Delta Air Lines take up the leases that Virgin Atlantic has for their Airbus a330 CEO planes? Airbus is having difficulty delivering Airbus a330 NEO’s and Airbus a350 aircraft.

One other thing Virgin Atlantic first got their A350-1000S in 2016 and the XWB version arrived 3 years later but the newest ones are 2 years old and virgin Atlantic has placed a big order for the ultra long range version of both of the A350S this being 900 ultra long range and the 1000 ultra long range the two biggest differences the planes is the seating capacity and the flying range 525 passenger capacity off the 900 ultra long range and the A350-1000 ultra long range seating capacity is 575 passengers both have similar flying range of close to 10 thousand miles
@FraserWest-um4ue
@FraserWest-um4ue 2 күн бұрын
also virgin Atlantic has added another 7 off the A330-900S to their orders but the next new A330-900 isn’t meant to arrive until sometime next summer and the rest of them are arriving in 2028
@FraserWest-um4ue
@FraserWest-um4ue 2 күн бұрын
They have already ordered a lot more of A350-900 ultra long range and the A350-1050 ultra long range again it’s seating capacity and flying range which is why they have placed orders for them the other thing is that virgin Atlantic isn’t going to retire all A330-343S they are keeping some of them until 2028 so off the information in the video isn’t correct

I heard that they ordered the NEO in the first place because of some sort of issue with the 787. Was it the Trent 1000 engine issues that made VA order A330NEOs or was it some other type of issue?
@AdventureswithJezza
@AdventureswithJezza 2 күн бұрын
That’s interesting, VA uses rolls Royce regardless as they’re both British companies. I do think there was some issues with the Trent 1000 engine but RR have spent 1 billion fixing the issues across all the Trent engines.
@smoketinytom
@smoketinytom 2 күн бұрын
@@AdventureswithJezza It might be also image and keeping things simple. And they might even have a very good deal to stick with RR, also great on the company image.

Fleet commonality is a factor. It makes it easier to move pilots between equipment with virtually no training. However, the 787 is too good an aircraft to pass up. Also, anyone who places an order for a 787 right now probably won't get it until 2030. The A330neo is much more available.

How about offering an international service out of Adelaide for starters? No direct international flights to anywhere yet Singapore and Qatar are filling A350’s and 777’s… and increasing frequencies… Wtf? They are a disgrace.

I suspect the 777X will be the largest twin engine airplane to ever be built. And it may be the largest commercial passenger airplane for 50+ years after the A380 and 747 are retired. So the few years delay for its entry into service will be long forgotten soon enough.

At the moment the non stop routes to London fly from Perth. If you going from Sydney it's better to go via Singapore. It takes 5 hours to fly to Perth so to do 5 hours then have to change planes then fly for 16 or 17 hours there's no real savings. At least going via Singapore you stay on the same plane.
