I'd also like a book where Lórien ws the center, the focus of the story. But it's hard for us people to imagine how 1000s of years old beings would think and feel :) Short scenes can work, but a full story, especially if not about a war or another crisis - like Silmarillion mostly is.
@Makkaru1123 жыл бұрын
@@timomastosalo he actually wrote a book called laws and customs of the elves. Even to the point of certain words not existing for them since they don't think in certain manners etc. His books clearly show how they think and how elves like Galadriel think too, especially the ones who lived through the war of wrath etc have clearly changed their tune so as not to cause problems anymore and be more wise so as not to get themselves and others killed. Finrod/Beren, etc.

I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew: Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew. Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea, And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden Tree. Beneath the stars of Ever-eve in Eldamar it shone, In Eldamar beside the walls of Elven Tirion. There long the golden leaves have grown upon the branching years, While here beyond the Sundering Seas now fall the Elven-tears. O Lórien! The Winter comes, the bare and leafless Day; The leaves are falling in the stream, the River flows away. O Lórien! Too long I have dwelt upon this Hither Shore And in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor. But if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me, What ship would bear me ever back across so wide a Sea?

You know, I'd like to hear a story of Galadriel herself. Begining in Valinor in The Silmarilion and ending on the crossing back. She would be my favorite elf. Just imagine the scope of that. She was there for the making of the Silmarils, the crossing back, all between that and the coming of the Valar(Melkab gets tossed to the void again), and all the way through the LOTR set. That would be a long song.

Legolas "A lament for Gandalf" Merry "what do they say about him?" Legolas "I cannot say, for me the grief is still too near" The shire, Bree, Moria and the misty mountains are all epic in their own way but Lothlorien just seems so grand in its own way, like its not part of Middle-earth but something else entirely......
@Makkaru1128 жыл бұрын
It's indeed a part of ME. It's a part of the elder days. Galadriel created it herself in the image of Irmo's Lorien. =3 She also wanted to create her own things as it were, and have her own kingdom. And it was a big reflection of Doriath, and Celeborn was close to Elu Thingol, so this was also like Melian and Thingol when together much stronger and when separated, much weaker, but in the case for Galadriel. She is baddass since before the sun and moon were even born.

The LOTR Universe is devided in 2 lands, the Middle Earth and the lands of Elves which is forbiden to the humans and other races . When the Kings of Gondor in ancient times wanted to invade those lands because they have been corrupted by Morgoth(the big bad guy ,Sauron was a mere servant of his) the Kingdom of Men got hit by disasters and never recovered from it ,they lost their splendor . Lothlorien ,Rivendell and the realm of the forest Elves (from where Legolas comes)are colonies in the Middle Earth ,when the war of the Ring ended most of the elves left Middle Earth to return to their lands ,they have helped the Humans to defeat the darkness ,Middle Earth was a land given to the Humans not to the Elves .

Have you ever read rhe Silmarillion and Children Of Hurin? You are missing out. Beren and Luthien ties greatly to COH and MORGOTHS RING WAS SUBLIME.
@Makkaru1124 жыл бұрын
You do realize its the only place left after many many many ages of such levity that most men and elves who have not seen it could not even bear to handle half of the stories to their fullness. Even many like galadriel seldom speak of many events as it effects them dearly. Kinslayings among many and other things. Heck, the story of beren and luthien is all from what the elves wanted us to know and thats it. For the whole thing would cause them to anguish sorrow and go into songs of lament for an entire night and so would it do to us tenfold ifnthey let us know the whole thing.

Almost but not exactly. The Silvan elves are the ones who heeded the call to head west but then got lost, or, found beauty to awe-inspiring to leave. Where as the Avari elves, their name meaning Refusers, only saw the lords of the west through the tainted vision crafted by Morgoth. They did not hate the Lords of the West, but they did not entirely trust them. Which lead to a distrust of many races, including some of their own kind.
@matt8240312 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah I remember those times!
@MasterOfCydonia11 жыл бұрын
If they are real, and are still alive, then they most likely became mere mortals like many humans. The Elves view of finality came with the Diminishment of the Elves. This is the time when they lost their near immortality and had much shorter lifespans. As such they most likely would have integrated into normal human societies. But you need to remember that not all the elves sailed west. The only ones to sail west were all of the Noldor, and some of the Sindar and Silvan. The Avari never left.
