I don’t think he’s saying it’s a bad thing that the deck is in that spot, but more so asking why even post an R/F thread about the deck where you’re asking for people to help with your deck list when the deck really doesn’t have a “correct” build? Like some things are obvious issues if the deck wasn’t playing any spinny, or if it was maindecking a random blue eyes or something, but the deck posted is just a typical salad deck. There’s really nothing you can objectively say is wrong about it so the post asking people what they would change is kinda pointless

But there are correct and incorrect decisions when building your deck. Objectively, you can prove that your deck will be more consistent and effective with Salamangreat Gazelle in your decklist than if you were to not include it. Doesn't mean that you can't play whatever tf you want, just means that your 60 card pendulum abc metalfoes phantom knights tribrigade list isn't going to be even close to the same level as any decently built drytron deck.

I’d prefer a more attack focused build, so I do use Heatleo and Pyro Phoenix, with certain aspects of control aspects. Needless to say, I know I’m probably playing the deck less optimally, but I find that people will be more prepared for control Salads than battle Salads. At the end of the day though, we may all have a salad, but you decide the contents of your build.

I just think the deck is the definition of ugh. It's a control deck that has a bunch of very small combos that put out some damage and it just doesn't die but none of the boards look impressive. Every board is just ugh to get through because it's just hand traps and not dying because they just make the same shit next turn. Honestly I hate this deck and would rather engage to 3 than let this deck still exist, its so annoying

Unironically think that heatleo isn’t that good in salad it’s second effect rarely if ever comes up since you would much rather just try and and make accesscode in the later parts of the game and the only reason I run it in my deck is because DB ladder is infested with striker players.

I can see where a second access code and transcode would come up over heatleo. Heatleo does end up being pretty important in some match ups, and it's just another card rogue decks can struggle against, which is probably the biggest reason to play salad imo.
