Tim, The glider is an "Easy Riser" biplane hang glider. Referred to as a rigid wing type as opposed to the traditional "kite" or Rogallo wing triangle hang glider. It would be foot launched from a high point, slope or cliff, depending on your level of youth and bravery. A a rule though, the Easy Riser had much better control and performance and a better glide ratio than other hang gliders of the 70's & 80's era. Interesting find... it looks like someone caught a wingtip and boogered it up.

Fascinating info, thanks Leeroy. I don't think I've got the youth and bravery to try it out, or take on the repairs it needs. I listed it on Facebook Marketplace

@@mr.goodpliers6988 tell Joe those Galaxies racing in Europe were special mix of NASCAR, NHRA and IHRA bits, homologated under FIA (the international motor sports association) rules, they were very unique with full race 427 side-oiler engines and beat up Jaguar in the British Saloon Car Championship so bad that it left racing for 12 years! I think Holman Moody out of Charlotte, North Carolina built them and if you ever find one it'd be worth north of $500K.

I got to talk with him some. Most farmers are fairly plain people, but he had some unique interests and hobbies. The large sailboat was bought new in North Carolina, then made its way to the Great Lakes around Chicago or Michigan, then he was the third owner who brought it to Kansas

@TheBicycle110 ай бұрын
The Datsun was known in Australia as the Datsun Fairlady. Those in club motor sport were hesitant at first due to the feminine name but they proved to be a car that was the equal to the popular MGB's etc. Easily maintained and tuned at home. Suitable for driving to the track, competing and driving back home.

Thosemotorcycles were really really great buys. Any running bike is worth 1000 to 1500 minimum. Judging by the commentary I would say a good wash and it would be roading time. I live too far awy to get in on the deals, but you seem to find the best, even that roached Datsun has some highly valued parts. If nothing else the boys had fun in it.
@tturtle165910 ай бұрын
Spot on. The secret is to go to an auction where you know the crowd would have no clue about the item you want. Those bikes with titles would be gone for twice these sums without doing anything and much more if you spend some time detailing them.

The small sailboat was a smart buy I thought. Best condition of the three since it had been stored inside. If anyone is in the market for roadsters, boats, or motorcycles, I'd recommend going bargain shopping for them on days when the weather is below freezing!

Chicken coop, straw kept it warm . Chickens don’t lay a lot when it’s cold. So you up production by keeping them warm but not hot! Wish I knew where I could find a COE for 1500 to 1800!

Did you know there's a company that builds FAA certified Corvair engines (110hp?) for light aircraft? ;-) My mom had worked at a tire store (bookkeeper) and was given a free set of Michelin tires for our 64 Corvair convertible. It was funny, this small woman trying to tell a gas station attendant, the tires weren't flat. ;-D

@warrenclaassen595910 ай бұрын
Someone else said it but that was a chicken roost or at least where they could lay their eggs. My grandparents had chickens and their roosts were galvanized and the eggs would actually roll to the front into an area where the hen couldn't sit on them. The ceilings they had were chicken wire like you saw there and there could be straw on top of the wire. I don't know if it was insulation or why it was there but the chicken wire was so that they couldn't fly up into the rafters.

Those were imported to the US by Datsun dealers by then, so I'd stick my neck out and say it was bought in the US. Here in Europe they hardly sold back then, a more likely car to bring back from Germany would have been the small 1602 BMW or similar.
