Farm Rescue 2023 - Robinson, IL

It was March 31, 2023, when Justin Lycan received a terrifying phone call from his family on a drive home from an out of town meeting. An EF3 tornado had touched down near their Robinson, IL farmstead, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Thankfully, Lycan's family had made it to the basement before the twister hit, but they were now trapped in their home awaiting help from local first responders. Upon arriving home, Justin quickly realized the severity of their situation. Nearly everything on their farm was destroyed, with several other area families impacted by the storm. Thanks to a friend, Justin was made aware of Farm Rescue and their assistance services. The nonprofit had recently launched operations in Illinois and this would be their first assistance case in the state. As the Lycans began their long road to recovery, Farm Rescue volunteers were honored to seed the family's corn and soybean crops. The organization also received additional equipment support from local John Deere dealer, Sloan Implement, for their work in the area.
