Farm Scene Completed

NOTE: This model railroad video is not intended for anyone under 14 years of age due to the use of small parts, dangerous tools, electrical items, glues, and paints.
The farm scene plus nearby tracks and the West Helix station area are now completed. I was able to find some N scale hay bales on eBay to add to the scene. Once again corduroy material provided the base for the second field where the bales are located. One of the silos plus the large red barn are 3D printed (PLA).
Most of the trees in the scene are from Longshadow's Trees plus a couple from Woodland Scenics.
NOTES:
The train sounds in the opening trailer were taken from a legal copy of the Apple iMovie application that I own.
The music in the closing trailer is an original composition made using a legal copy of the Apple Garageband application that I own

John, seems like a great way to cover the helix. I’m recently subscribed and I’ll have to go back to see what you did on the helix in full.

Hi Ken, Thank you for subscribing and your comments. The spline helix is made from Masonite hardboard and is 24 pieces wide to form the base for the two tracks. I do have a playlist that shows some of the construction. The west helix has to be kept open since I need to be able to have routine maintenance on the mini-split HVAC unit that is just above it. The east helix is of similar construction but is pretty well hidden under the Union Station engine facility.......John

The farm is looking really good, John. Love the way you made it. It adds so much to the layout. Are you going to add another one later on? To represent rural areas it seems you can't have just one.

Hi Michael, Thank you for watching and your comments. Originally I was going to have two small farms but I decided to create one large one after expanding the area over the top of part of the west helix. The area where the other farm was going to be will now have some pump jacks to supply oil to the large refinery that I will be putting at the beginning of the loop at Tulsa. There may be some room for some other rural looking areas later along the back wall just outside Paradigm station……John

Hey Sparky, Thank you for your comments. This farm does not have any cows since they were all sent to the stock feed lot on the other side of the layout. However, there is a Bigfoot walking along the tracks just above the entry to the West Helix…..John
