George was the star of the show. Experience like his cannot be bought, but our investigative waffler searched it out. Thank you Andrew. Not sure about the Chinese buggy, full of eastern promise, but will it deliver the goods. Can Am looks like a good option, if it comes in your budget.

Unfortunately the generation of people who knew how to manage water course to the best advantage of farmers and wildlife are slowly passing away and the replacements have no idea Remember as a kid the River Torne in Isle of Axholme dredged and dredging spread on the banks Yes looked a mess for a while but all the grass / vegetation regenerated

Have to agree with the old boy about the rivers. The Foss behind the racecourse in Lincoln for instance. Used to fish that regularly 35 years ago. Plenty of depth and colour. Loads of boats too. But always a good days fishing. And a variety of fish. Went two years ago. Same stretch. And it must’ve been a good metre shallower than it used to be. Gin clear water. (Ideal for cormorants) No fish. The Ancolme at Redbourne is the same. Give it another 30 years and a lot of the rivers will exist in name alone or just long bogs of rushes.

The loss of fish in our rivers isn't all down to removing silt, global warming, chemical, fertilizer runoff, pollution from sewage, all have taken there toll. 200 mm of rain in one day! what do you all expect ? Of course it's going to flood. Yes some improvments are needed, and the EA needs to step up but to cast the blame solely on the EA is an ostrich approach. Yes well made graders are expensive , do we expect it to be made and sold at cost ? everyone in the chain needs to make a profit or all we will have is poorly made Chinese imports. Great channel Wardy. Love the content, keep it up!
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Жыл бұрын
Yes but if the rivers were maintained, there would g be so much flooding. If I hadn’t done the ditches out for 50 years I wouldn’t be able to grow 1 acre of crops. I think £3-3.5k would be enough for that grader. There wasn’t much steel in it. Time maybe. I like the look of the can am.

Thanks for good coverage. I don’t envy some if these companies and their reps trying to sell this expensive machinery in todays world. When wheat shot up from £30 a ton to £90 in 1973 we thought we were in clover both buyer and seller trouble was everything else went up in price as well.

Hi Wardy. All we use in a quarry for roads and tracks are 2 I beams joined together with 2 fixed metal channel sections , the I beams need to be about 5 foot apart, we use a chain to pull it behind a loading shovel but i also know of some on a 3 point linkage, Put something on top so you can add some extra weight if you need to,
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Жыл бұрын
Sounds somnolent but our tracks aren’t all the same width so need something which is hydraulically adjustable
@suresren Жыл бұрын
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard same as our tracks and roads around the quarry but if you straddle the area that is worked they work just the same as you are able to keep the edges pulled in aswell and you don't end up with the road being lower the the edges for improved drainage,

Are you talking about the main River Witham? We have been cruising it all this year by boat and have seen many heron and fish throughout the year, fishermen and otters too! Agree it does need dredging (esp at the sides as the middle depth varies 1 to 2 metres up to 4 metres) but there is a lot more wildlife than is being said in this video!
