A great update Andrew, you hit the nail right on the head this government don't want farmers producing food. Its about time they open there eyes and see if we don't produce our own food we then come dependent on other countries, which will result in higher prices poorer quality and produced using banned chemicals which we cannot use . The beet looked a good size, and the cleaner did a great job .

Great update I totally agree on your last point this government doesn’t want farmers and food producers in this country it’s very sad when inflation is going to go up and it’s going to make food more expensive we should be supporting our farmers to produce more top quality food I am a retired farmer but I feel you will need to demonstrate in a big way to make the government take notice before they come to their senses

Hello Andrew You’ve hit the nail on the head. This government doesn’t want food production in the Uk. 100% evident with the policy of giving half a billion to farmers over seas, that’s the same amount the inheritance tax will raise. Totally madness. Do you have any thoughts on the disaster happening at Arla? With the push to get to net zero they have been trialling a food additive in the cows feed to reduce methane on 30 of there farms. But the active ingredients are claimed to cause cancer and reduce male fertility. There has been such a backlash to this. Social media seems to be full of people calling for a boycott. I’m an Arla farmer and have not and will not be part of this trial but it’s the last thing we need. Producing healthy high quality food should be the main criteria! As farmers in whatever sector we don’t need this scandal when we’re trying to get the public on our side. Personally I’m even more worried about the future of my own farm, worse case is I’ll need to find a home for 6 million litres of milk per year. Such a mess! Cheers Irwin

Great update Andrew you certainly know what your talking about about I just hope some of are Agricultural Ministers are listening to you because you really do talk a lot of sense but you’ll need to keep it up I think there worried as farmers I think we are very lucky having people like you on are side Your sugar beet looked good bet it was better on concrete and the ground it was in is coming on well That was interesting what you said about black grass about putting the waste soil back on the same fields every time I do like listening to your channel because you always learn something and thanks for doing so much for British Agriculture every credit to you and Andrew fantastic video

Morning Andrew, good update. Really good to see the beet getting away, I bet you are pleased with that. Good to see you speaking, I wonder if any Government ministers watch and listen to you. If I was a leader, I would think I need to listen to those who have the knowledge, so I would sit down with farmers and gain their knowledge to be able to make the right decisions. When will they realise? Hopefully, not when it's too late. Thanks Andrew, looking forward to the next video.

Morning Andrew - firstly the beet ground looks remarkably good considering the rain! It’s very satisfying to watch what a good job the cleaner loader does on the beet… secondly - your point regarding the gov’t and the capital grant withdrawals… I totally agree, we fall into the category of small family farmers and contractors, so we now have major headaches regarding succession Etc, and last year applied for fairly substantial capital grants on the yard, drainage and silt collection to help water pollution from the yard area, only to receive the letter this week that “sorry your grant is now on hold, and MAY be reviewed in 2025. Ok fine, but what about the 17 weeks that it’s been submitted and the cost to our business spending 6 months in the planning stages and meetings (at our own cost) of the relevant professionals to advise on the correct scheme…. Who reimburses us THE FARMERS for all that time and effort that’s led to nothing now… they are an absolute disgrace and as a farmer I am so glad you and Olly and Clive have taken a stance and stood up and done something to fight back! Well done and all the best… George, Northants .

Good Morning Andrew, another great video, You come over as an optimistic glass half full kind of chap and boy do we need that in this industry. Have you heard the story of the labour mo who,s parents transferred ownership of a large amount of land to his brother just before the budget? Not illegal, but makes you wonder ,,,,,,

Good update, always interested in sugar beet from seed to factory as i have never had anything to do with it. Think the labour party should be made to sit down and listen to the facts figures as given in your presentation, showing the huge costs involved these days along with the fluctuations in the commodities that farmers grow giving no base line to work from or budget either. Well done.

Top job on the update Andrew, the government shall have to start listening sooner to avoid food manufacturers running out of raw materials coming from farmers. Starmer and Reeves need to go back to their nursery school and ask for better crayons to write up a plan to support the farming industry and wider businesses that are to be affected by their scribbled budget. MPs need to get out of their bloody ivory towers and give back to the country what they have taken, heating allowances for pensioners too!

Cracking update again Andrew. Nice to see some corn heading out and some off that could end up in our restaurant 😂😂 I love love those cold mornings and sunny days. Isn’t it surprising what dirt the beet cleaner takes out while loading the lorry.

Hi Andrew a great Sunday update, I see that the government are not moving on this inheritance or other issues. There are also lots of people who just can't understand it all and just say pay your taxes, they don't understand this will all affect people going to the shops and food cost and security and jobs in other business as well and National insurance .

Andrew it is good to see you have got the heavy land Beet away. Regarding your winter Wheat had you not got that in the ground when you did it would have been nearly impossible now. On your Beet cleaner it would be nice if Machinery Manufacturers would make access a little easier for cleaning with some steps / walkways.

Great update Andrew. Be careful not to use words like militant as it could be misconstrued. Hopefully more and more people will start to question the establishment, just seeing the amount of them that are involved with neferious deals, criminal records, kiddie fiddling etc, I'm including the beeb as they're the mouth piece.

Hi Andrew, When I read some of the comments related to the debate surrounding farming on Facebook I can only conclude a very large percentage of the UK have little to no idea that food comes from farms. I think a lot of people think it comes from one of the very large supermarket chains. If your idea of farming comes from the BBC Country File programme you will be no wiser. I have friends who were farmers, or worked on farms. I have helped on a farm. I have stayed on three separate farms for a week. I have a much better idea of how farming really works. This means that more people in the UK need to know the hours farmers have to work. The conditions. The consequence of breaking up farms into smaller units. I do not think Rachel Reeves has any idea about farming. (Or small businesses i.e. those employing less than 250 people.) With your first class communication skills it would be good if you could spend a day on dairy farm. Sheep Perhaps farming Pigs. Chickens Would not look so great visually. The opening sequence of this video is great for anyone enjoys the countryside. Starmer will only back down on his destructive tax plans if he thinks a very large section of the population are against it. Farmers and small businesses have a good story to tell and need to get that message across in the next few months of the consequences of Rachel Reeves tax grab.

Enjoyed this one, thank you. You mentioned Violet root rot, but what happened to Rhizomania (apologies for spelling) I know there was a lot of concerns many years ago, and we even had some outbreaks in England. Will you put an old sheet on the beet spoils to keep the wet out and make it easier to spread, or just leave it and let mother nature take care of it?

If there is to be a mass protest andrew it needs to be in january many of us will be lambing come febuary and we want to be there. although i live in england i wanted to join the welsh farmers protest last year but we were lambing. (Some of our customers are in wales, to be fair the protest must have done some good as it apesrs they have droped the 10 percent tree cover

How do your sugar and dirt tares compare to last year Andrew? I've lifted a third of my beet, 26.5tpa adjusted, 17.33 sugar, 3.2% dirt. Last years season average was 24.1tpa, 14.83% sugar, 8.6 dirt. The difference in dirty yield (that we pay haulage on) and clean yield (that BS pay us for haulage) and adjusted yield (how we're paid for beet) between the two seasons is significantly different. Happy for you to use my figures to compare to yours or illustrate a point if you so wish.

It’s a shame these politicians don’t understand the simple logic of importing food. They are happy to overlook the fact of basic economics. Every £ spent importing food is a £ that leaves the country to support a foreign economy. It is then unavailable to support local economies at home.

96% of the population don’t pay IHT, bet you didn’t t know that either? Are you working for the same income as 20 years ago? We are because every tin of grain is the same £/ton as 20 years ago. You’d soon be winging if your pay packet was the same as In the early 2000’s but with today’s costs. You don’t have a clue what it costs us to put food on your plate, we’re subsidising your weekly food bill.

They don't want production of anything in this country. Bloody bonkers! Look at the bowler hat farmer channel and see if you can join the website he's started. Even if it's selling feed grain to people with chickens. Look at holding a farmers market in the yard as you've s perfect yard for one. Get cash in hand from the pitches and try to get others to do the same in your videos and talks you attend too.. Anything to keep money out of the hands that shouldn't have it.
